Leah Kahn is an outstanding dog trainer. I began working with Leah when she was a student in my canine classes at SUNY Cobleskill. Leah works very hard, learns fast, and is open to new philosophies and methods. In the (too) short time I got to work with Leah, she astounded me with her dogged pursuit of perfection.
We leaned on Leah heavily to represent our Program. She conducted several canine demonstrations and talks- all of which she trained the dogs for, designed, and flawlessly executed.
I had the pleasure of watching Leah train dogs in obedience, Detection, Tracking, and mitigate canine behavior problems.

We are so grateful for Advanced Canine. Mark is such a wonderful canine (really more human) trainer. He is like a dog whisperer, having a keen ability to see the world through their eyes. Our dog (a 1.5 year old boxer pit mix) had many issues. Mark provided us with the knowledge and techniques to correct the issues. Mark enabled us to get a good solid foundation for our English Golden Retriever, Cooper. He's now over 1 1/2 years old and has a lot of spunk but is starting to develop very good manners and is enabling me to walk him without him pulling me along as he used to do. I have an Aussie whom was hard to walk for he was pulling and I have ms so I was afraid he would make me fall. He now walks great with my partner. We called Mark over 1 month ago to evaluate our 5/6 year old Shih Tzu recuse Chin. Chin came from a bad hoarding situation and before that we don’t know. He was a good friendly dog but had a biting problem especially if he was surprised or startled. Over a 9 month period he bit me at least 8 times and and my wife about 4 times. He was a fun dog but the biting was such a problem that we were not sure we could keep him. We also have a 7 year old Scottie we got as a puppy. She tolerates Chin but that’s about it.A neighbor recommended Mark so we called him and he was here in a couple days to do an evaluation of Chin. He spoke about to how handle him and also pushed his buttons to see his reaction. He determined that he may not need his services and that we may be able to work it out.Well, Mark must have scared him straight because almost immediately Chin is a changed dog. We worked on Mark’s recommendations and now Chin is well behaved, biting has not been an issue. I have an 8 year old pitbull Sam that my wife and I have had since he was 8 weeks old. After many moves and many changes in our household his behaviors started to change. It was getting to the point where my wife no longer wanted him around. He was not fond of our newborn, he was loud obnoxious and did whatever he wanted. We couldn’t have guest over and couldn’t even take him for walks anymore with fear of having to pass someone on the road and have zero control of him. My wife said he must go and this is when I contacted Mark for help to save my best friend! What a truly amazing experience it was to work with Mark! His understanding of how a dogs mind works is unbelievable. Every visit with him I was even more amazed. Fast forward to the end of our training and Sam has completely turned around. We are able to have guest at the house again. His relationship with my son has grown tremendously. Sam and I have grown even closer as well. After rescuing a pup that quickly started showing aggression, I messaged Mark and asked for advice. I had seen his work and the way he handles the dogs in his charge and I was really impressed. I knew if I decided to get another dog, he would be the one to call. He responded to my message immediately, even though it was a Sunday. He was able to meet with us the following day. Mark at Advanced Canine Development has been a god send for my 2 Dobermans and myself. Phoenix went into Mark’s board and train program at 7 months old. The transformation that happened with Phoenix in those 2 weeks were amazing! Mark just recently took Phoenix for some things that I could see were developing that could of been a set back. Phoenix worked past it with Mark. Athena joined Mark’s puppy program at 12 weeks and has excelled to the point that she is ready for Mark’s board and train program. Phoenix and Athena are both happy and well balanced pups due to the confidence that was instilled in them in their training. Mark is one of the most honest business professionals I have met in Florida. We are having issues (nipping and a high level of anxiety) with Theo our 11 year old English Bulldog. Theo has had a lot of change in the last year with moving to Florida from New England. I reached out to Mark to see if he could help us. Mark came right out to evaluate him to see how he could help. He spent the time talking with me and listening to understand the situation. He also walked with me and Theo and advised how to walk him and to keep him from what is making him anxious (new people, new dogs in our neighborhood, construction workers going in and out of the house). He let me know I need to be confident because holding the leash my anxiousness goes right down the leash and Theo picks it right up. Mark was honest and since Theo is a Senior and it will be a challenge to put him through vigorous training. I highly recommend Advanced Canine Development. My 8 year old Labrador. service dog, Mustang, just completed a very successful training. Being that my dog is 8, he had some anxiety about being away from home and was stressed his first few days. Mark and Jim came up with an alternate arrangement that would provide the best results by lessening his anxiety thus my dog could focus on his training. Jim, Mustang’s main trainer, took him into his own home for the duration of the training. Mustang thoroughly enjoyed his stay and his lounging time with Jim’s elderly mother. Jim worked with Mustang every day and the progress he made with him was astounding. When Mustang left for training, he would pull on the lead and could not contain his excitement around people or other dogs. A week later, Mark and Jim met to assist me with proper commands for Mustang and my dog is now walking loose lead and not intrigued with people or animals but focused on his job. The amazing training by Jim has changed my life in so many ways and I can now have my service dog by my side always! Mark is amazing. We got a service dog from Canines 4 Hope for 20,000. For my mentally ill 14 year old daughter. We when brought him home it was clear he wasn’t ready to handle my daughters needs. I contacted Mark and out of the goodness of his heart he gave us advice and most of all understanding over what we had been through. Just wanted to thank you for the great job you did for helping us and Lilly. She is doing fantastic. Totally housebroken. She lets us know when she needs to go out by going to the door . She is very regular in #1 and 2. Walking really well on her collar/harness. Loves people and other dogs (not squirrels !). She is really so smart she does something different almost everyday. Mark is a miracle worker! He has been with me through the entire training of my poodle since I picked him up from the breeder at 8 weeks old. He kept my dog for one week and he came back to me a fully trained, well behaved, and well mannered pooch! I can even walk my dog off leash now and he listens to all my commands. After trying other puppy training classes locally with no luck, we made an appointment with Mark at Advanced Canine for his 6 hour puppy training program. Mark is a true dog whisper. We have a 4 & 1/2 hear old Schnauzer named Calvin that was out of control on a leash and when people came in and out. Needless to say he also didn't sit, stay or any of the basics. He had my Calvin listening and sitting for him within the first half hour. His methods are so easy and make it a breeze to learn to control and work your dog. I am very proud to say Calvin is a well behaved boy now and knows nothing is free. He loves it. I can’t imagine training a dog without Mark’s help. His intuition and direct methods give Advanced Canine the absolute leading edge in dog training and behavior modification. Mark is awesome. We had worked with him with our boy Ryder. Ryder is a 1 year old German Shepard who had a mind of his own! He wouldn’t come when called, dug holes in the yard, pulled incessantly on the leash when walking, and jumped on guests when visiting our home. We chose to do the board and train program!! All of the above problems were addressed by Mark during his stay. I cannot believe how well behaved Ryder has become since his training!! We are going to work with Mark on our older female Charli. We saw a friends dog who was a year old so well behaved. When we inquired, they informed us Mark was what had made all the difference. We immediately called for our Labradoodle Puppy, who was just 2 months old or so. Mark has taught us everything from potty training and crate training to basic obedience, proper socialization and walking (not pulling) on a leash. Totally pleased with the work and care Mark put in to training our boxer. We were at our wits end with Ruby. She would get lose and no matter what we did Ruby would NOT listen to us.
