Matheu has been training our rescue dog Rosco and more importantly have been training my husband and I. We’re getting older and wanted to downsize on dogs so that we could travel with him . Matheu from University of Canines trained our Aussie Doodle puppy to be our service dog. We’ve always had dogs in our home, but Matheu taught us how to stop annoying behaviors like barking and jumping. He trained Izzie to walk in step with us on a leash as well as obedience behaviors like sit, down, leave it, wait, etc. She also has good recall. Matheu asked us about our lifestyle and how we planned to fit Izzie into our activities and then he trained her to behave in those situations. He trained her at our home along with airports, stores, restaurants, and the park. He always asked how she was doing and even came back to retrain when we told him she would run away when the door was open. She no longer does that. Matheu told us he is available to come back and help with any other issues that come up. Matheu is also knowledgeable about all things related to puppies like food, chew toys, characteristics of breeds, etc. We enjoy working with Matheu and we are enjoying our puppy more because of what he taught us. We searched for a trainer for our German Shepherd “Riggs” and came across Latony’s- we have had nothing but a great experience! Matheu has been very attentive and patient- not only with Riggs, but with us as owners. What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to transform a dog to the point where they don’t need to be micromanaged or constantly commanded. They understand what’s expected and just do it.

Service dog training
We predetermine a select amount of weeks and fill that time with 3 lessons per week. This package allows us to work towards your goals without worrying about you being able to dedicate the time it takes to do the necessary homework. The package includes one service task, public access training, and advanced obedience. If desired we can also include off leash.
Advanced obedience training (off leash)
For 12 weeks we work diligently towards your goals. Depending on your flexibility and how much time you can dedicate to doing homework will determine how many lessons is necessary per week.
Basic obedience Lesson bundle
We typically recommend for basic obedience for puppies, adult, and senior dogs that only need to be obedient on leash or within 6 feet.
