I offer counseling services to individuals, couples and families. I have training in Gottman Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Research shows these are the most successful therapies for couples. Emotionally Focused Therapy helps to build a secure bond. From this foundation most couples are able to solve any of their problems without further treatment. Gottman tools are extremely helpful once this foundation is laid and for specific issues. I have experience and special training for working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, behavior issues, ADHD, PTSD and OCD among other issues. Parenting strategies are essential and are offered as I work with you and your child. I use primarily Cognitive Behavior Therapy, but also pull in strategies from Aggression Replacement Training, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Play Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Where appropriate I may also use Emotionally Focused Therapy for relationship issues with kids and their family members. Sessions typically last an hour. Couples sessions are often longer--particularly with Emotionally Focused Therapy. I love what I do and the people that I meet! I look forward to meeting you!

What do you love most about your job?

My job is never boring! I meet so many wonderful and interesting people and I enjoy connecting with them. I also love helping them connect to each other. It makes me sad to hear that someone has a broken relationship even if I don't know them. To be able to see some of these relationships be healed is a privilege and an honor that never gets old. It is also amazing when someone has a new discovery about him/herself and recognize their own power to create change.

What inspired you to start your own business?

The honest answer is that I never wanted to start my own business! I enjoyed my job doing therapy in the school district with amazing co-workers, bosses and especially clients. I had a baby and needed something more flexible and part-time. The business side of this work is not my favorite. The insurance and marketing etc. is what I put up with in order to do what I love which is helping people grow, love themselves, and love others. My husband gave me a nudge and God opened a door for me to have an office right at the time I was wanting one.

Why should our clients choose you?

Because I truly care about their suffering and I have enough hope to carry everyone in the room! I am passionate about growth for myself and others, so I will always keep learning alongside you. I could list my credentials but when I am searching for a provider that's not what's important. I want someone who cares and will go the extra mile to help. Someone who actually listens to me rather than assuming they know. I strive to be that kind of provider.
