My therapy and coaching journey has certainly not been an ordinary one. Twelve years ago, I made the decision to pack up my whole life into one suitcase and move from South Africa to the US, where I now have a beautiful family and a career that I love and care deeply for.
Dr. Camblard has expertise and specialized interest in trauma-informed care, racial equity initiatives, play therapy, infant mental health, maternal mental health (including racial disparities of Black maternal health), culturally-competent & responsive services to families of color, race-related stress/racial trauma, and Christian counseling utilizing faith-based coping strategies to enhance resilience. She has extensive specialized training in treating children & adolescents, as well as evidenced-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Culturally-Informed Care and Community Initiatives Dr. Camblard practices from a culturally-informed and racial trauma lens by understanding the impact of social justice issues on Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities. She received expert training on therapy for racial trauma. She also served on the Connecticut Psychological Association’s Ethnic Diversity Task Force (EDTF) to advocate for culturally competent mental health services for communities of color and provide mentorship for college and graduate students of color in psychology. Dr. Camblard is dedicated to helping families thrive to their fullest potential. She is credentialed as a National Register Health Service Psychologist (HSP). She is also a member of American Psychological Association (APA), the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), Connecticut Psychological Association (CPA) and serves on their Child and Family Committee. As a professional provider, she is a member of the Postpartum Support International (PSI), the Perinatal Mental Health Alliance for People of Color (PMHA-POC), and the Connecticut Association for Infant Mental Health (CT-AIMH).
