I was active-duty Air Force for 10 years and a DOD civil servant for the last 15 years. Last fall, I left the DOD and officially became a leadership coach. I’m an experienced, positive, and successful professional who is passionate about coaching, which I have been doing for my entire professional life. I was a trainer and instructional designer for over 18 years, formally trained by the Air Force Instructor School. I hold master’s certificates in Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Human Resource Management, Project Management, and Organizational Effectiveness, and a master’s degree in management. I’m a certified professional life coach in the following areas: Leadership, Transformation, Career, and Confidence. Additionally, I am in the process of getting my level 2 International Coach Federation (ICF) accreditation. I have a special spot in my heart for leading and teaching (helping) people. I have always been blessed with the ability to lead and teach, and after 25 years with the Department of Defense (DOD) in acquisition, during the last 18 of my 25 years, I did a lot of leading and teaching, so I decided that I should share that knowledge and experience with as many people as I can. So here I am! I thoroughly enjoy helping people figure out the solutions to their problems by asking them lots of questions that can lead them to the answers they need. After 25 years, it was time to move on from my DOD career and do something new. I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur, so I took the leap! I am still working very hard to get my business where I want it to be, but that is quite alright. It's much more rewarding to work really hard for yourself than for someone else who doesn't appreciate half as much as a business owner does.
While I am fairly new to coaching in this setting, I am not new to the act of coaching, as I did it for the past 20 years. The great thing about my experience is it is so incredibly diverse. I have been stationed at 8 different bases across the country, where I got to experience the differences in our cultures. I am from NYC, where I was brought up very differently from someone in Biloxi, MS, or San Antonio, TX. This made things very interesting, to say the least. Further, the military is a huge melting pot of people of all different races, colors, languages, and customs...but we all have to come together to get the mission accomplished. This is a beautiful thing!! The reason I bring this up is I had to learn how to lead and coach people from all walks of life. I figured it out quite well, which is one really good reason to choose me! ;-)
