What do you love most about your job?

What do I love most about my job? So. Many. Things. But.... its not a job, its a passion project!

I would have to say the part that I love most is wedding day itself and watching couples be present in the moment. Knowing that I have everything handled, they can relax and really take in their special day. I've been called a magician, a miracle worker, or a god-send by my clients and although I appreciate the praise - it is really not about me, its about allowing everything to go off without a hitch... for them.

What inspired you to start your own business?

A love for organization and events brought me here, the couples I've worked with and the satisfaction of making their big days come to realization, kept me going! I truly believe that the most important part of your wedding day is to fully enjoy it with those you love. There are so many pieces to coordinate and sometimes keeping it all together can be overwhelming. I find solace in giving that simple pleasure to couples on their wedding day so they can be fully present for each blissful moment.

Im a believer in "everything happens for a reason" and over 12 years ago, the wedding and event industry found me. As an over-organized teenager, planning for college, my mother helped me realize that my natural intuition was to lead, plan and detail every piece of every event I came in contact with and that stuck with me throughout college. A wedding planner in my area saw my dedication to professional growth and I was ever so lucky to find a mentor in her; who taught me the ropes and ignited my enthusiasm of working with engaged couples.

I have been fortunate enough to work within most segments of the event planning and hospitality industries. This allows me to give my clients a true white glove experience and flawless service. In 2004 I became a certified wedding planner where I furthered my passion for the wedding industry. I gained the knowledge of an array of religious traditions and how to perfectly mix them in for a unique ceremony and reception that represents your love story.

From venue searches and inspiration boards to day of detailing and on-site detail take-over! I call it detailing because each piece of the big day is important and I want every moment to be experienced, felt and captured the way you imagined!

Why should our clients choose you?

Because this is planning for the busy bride and/or the go-getter groom and I like to make it fun. The planning process gets over-whelming quickly and I put the excitement back into it by allowing you to actually enjoy your engagement - however long or short it is and however small or large your wedding event is.

Not only will the process ease your stress-levels, but I'll be sure to make the day about you and your love-story....within your budget! Each couple I get to work with is unique with different visions and budgets and I love being able to be part of your wedding day so that you can be present in each blissful moment instead of worry about the nitty gritty details. (That's where I come in)

First and foremost, a wedding planner is responsible for the planning and the logistics of your wedding. This includes finding and securing a venue, which is an important first step as all of your suppliers will be asking where and when the wedding is. A wedding planner will also source said suppliers for things such as the catering, entertainment, and the flowers. They are also responsible for the scheduling of the day, to ensure there is enough time allotted for each element of your ceremony and reception. All in all, a wedding planner is there to make sure the day runs smoothly and that your vision comes to life.

The cost of a wedding planner will depend on several factors. For example, the size of the wedding and the location.

A wedding planner should be highly organised, especially when they are in charge of the timings, managing the budget, and the logistics of the whole day. Aside from this though, they should be someone who is a great listener. They should be highly experienced in wedding planning, and be able to problem-solve. Most of all, they should possess the ability to put you at ease, especially as their job is to take away the stress for you.

Not all weddings are created equal! Depending on what you had in mind for your big day, you should opt for a wedding planner who specialises in the level of help you need.

  • Full Service - A full service wedding planner will quite literally plan every aspect of your wedding. It’s ideal for couples who are too busy to take on the planning themselves. They are with you from the start and will work with you on all the big decisions as well as the finer details.
  • Partial Service - A partial wedding planner is for couples who know what they want but need help with some of the last-minute details. They tend to come in a few weeks up to around 3 months before your big day. Partial wedding planners help elevate that last-minute stress when most of your wedding is already taken care of, but you want to ensure the finishing touches run smoothly.
  • Destination - If you plan on marrying abroad then opt for a destination wedding planner. They are best placed to help you with all the arrangements including travel. They will also research the best suppliers and entertainment. Plus, they’ll take care of any other hidden details that need to be ironed out when your wedding is happening in a different country.
  • Weekend Wedding - Weekend weddings are those which are spread over several days. They require an increased level of planning and logistics to take care of your guests, compared with a regular wedding. For example, a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, and even a post-wedding brunch the next day. They will also factor in the entertainment.

There are no qualifications that a wedding planner has to have to be able to operate. It’s something that anyone can do. So, the best way to check if they are the right fit for you is to have a consultation with them. Be sure to do your research, check their reviews, and have a look at the weddings they have planned previously to get an idea of what they could achieve for you.

While your wedding planner will be taking care of the finer details for you, it’s still a good idea to think about the kind of day you want.

For example, the size of the wedding, colour schemes, what type of flowers, and the overall theme. There are a lot of decisions to be made so it can be helpful to talk with your partner beforehand about what you both envision. That way you can be on the same page with your wedding planner right from the start.

Also, be sure to inform your wedding guests of the date of the wedding at the earliest opportunity, so that they have time to arrange transport or book the time off work.

Wedding planners are there to help you organise your big day, and so compared to making impulse purchases because you’re stressed or simply don’t know what you want - absolutely!

It’s also possible to find a wedding planner that specialises in budget-friendly weddings too.

Remember, while they are doing all of the planning, it is still you who is in control. Your wedding planner will work with you to create a budget and present the costs to you before they go ahead and book. If the budget is the absolute priority for you, then you should stress this from the start.

Yes! After all, you only get one wedding day and so it needs to feel like a special occasion for both of you. Plus for all your family and friends who will be attending too. Given most people are new to planning a wedding, having a professional take care of everything for you can result in a day that far exceeds what you could have achieved alone.

Even if you already have an exact vision in mind, bringing that to life can be tricky, especially if you lack time or expertise in planning and logistics. Having a consultation with a wedding planner will shed more light on what they can create for you, which will help you get a clearer picture as to whether a wedding planner is right for you.

Choosing a wedding dress is one of the biggest decisions for the whole day. Understandably with so much choice out there, it can be tricky to find a dress that ticks all the right boxes. While the ultimate decision is up to you, a wedding planner can help you source the best bridal boutiques and arrange a fitting for you. They can also help source outfits for the groom as well as bridesmaids dresses.

Absolutely! From choosing your dream venue to finding the perfect musician to play while you walk down the aisle, there's nothing stopping your wedding planner from planning your big day from afar.
