I am writing this review to personally give thanks to the Baroque Contempo Team for planning the most beautiful wedding for me and my wife. As a professional soccer player, I knew that planning a wedding was a lot of work. Together with my fiancé we both travel a lot so we hired a professional who has lots of patience ( we are both very picky), and who can sort out all the options out there and focus only on our vision.
I will only say that this company focuses very closely on all the little details, they are experts and can solve almost every situation when it comes to planning a wedding. I booked a full planning package and I am so glad I did it because for 9 months I really enjoyed every minute building my dream wedding. I worked with Cristina and she did everything in time, with lots of passion and she was always very enthusiastic in working and planning everything for our big day.
I highly recommend her! A wonderful journey I will never forget!

I am originally from the Chicagoland area but am currently living abroad (in a time zone that is 6-7 hours ahead depending on the season). I worked with Thomas from the Miracle Brothers over a few months to get our Chicago-land area wedding together and I can highly recommend them.
He was professional, understanding, flexible, and nurturing throughout the entire process. He was useful to bounce ideas off of when I was sorting through things and really brought professional, practical, and useful insight into ideas that I had throughout the entire process. He was also helpful in finding great vendors to help us on the day.
On the day of the wedding, I was taken aback at how well Thomas executed our vision beyond our expectations with the information we provided. On the day he didn't ask any questions of us...and he completely took over so we didn't have to worry about anything. He even took care of us enough to remind us to eat and drink so that we had a good balance of saying "Hi" to guests, while enjoying the day and spending time with each other. Everyone at the wedding talked about how great and professional his team was!
One exciting surprise was how beautiful the ceremony arch came out. We ordered garlands and flowers from an online warehouse, did our own flowers and I had a vision that the garland on the arch would have flowers. However, the bouquets that I prepared were intended to be only on the chairs....and I kind of forgot about the flowers on the garland because there was not enough time to prepare the garland with flowers. Without me knowing, Thomas split the flowers up and decorated the arch and chairs with the flowers and it came out very beautifully! Better than I could have imagined!
I highly recommend The Miracle Brothers and am excited to see where their business takes them!

Faces in Focus, BY FAR, is the best place to get a caricature or any such art work done. These guys REALLY know what they're doing. Superb customer service, and excellent talent. I recommend everyone to go to them, and i will for sure go to them in the near future. Lothar (the owner) is a great guy, he's amazing at what he does. SO if you want a caricature, go no where else other than faces in focus, believe me, you'll be beyond satisfied!!!
I used them for my parents combined 60th surprise party last year. She was beyond nice and helpful. Guests were raving that I hired someone to help but it was the best decision I made for the party! We had over 100 people at our house and it was our first time hosting such a large event. She kept everything running smoothly inside while my husband and I were able to enjoy the party with my parents and family. I always recommend them and will use them again for other parties in the future!
I recently worked with Jamie at Chicago Food Truck Hub to cater for a student/university event. From his very onset to responding to my initial inquiry he was very organized and quick to respond. He was always able to help bring clarity to issues we needed to navigate. We had some considerable additional hoops to jump through to ensure that we were compliant with university procedures and our health safety office. Throughout the process he remained a great partner in producing the documentation needed to be 100% compliant. The day of the event, Jamie was a great liaison and was on site to ensure that everything went smoothly. Even when we had to make last minute changes to our logistics because of considerable rain, we were able to trouble-shoot appropriately for a nice event. In the final lead up to the event he also helped to navigate cost savings measures to make sure that we wouldn't experience much food waste from the event. It was a pleasure working with Jamie. I would highly recommend working with him in the future.
When my then fiancé and I interviewed Sonya to be our wedding planner, we had already completed some of the groundwork. My pretty bride, however, was not the type that glossed over wedding magazines dreaming of the perfect wedding since she was 10 years old. Moreover, we were trying to finish in 2 months what most couples plan in a year. We knew that we would need help.
We had just posted online and Sonya was the first to respond and, fortunately, her office was close to the venue we had just finished visiting. From the very first meeting, we were impressed with how she proactively took us through the steps she would take to bring the wedding planning to a successful finish. We interviewed several others afterwards. Sonya, however, would be the high bar that all other planners had to clear.
As we interviewed one candidate after another, we came to the same conclusion after each meeting – they just didn’t measure up to Sonya. The others just did not give us the same level of confidence that no detail would be overlooked. She also projected the grit and assertiveness to handle any vendor that might step out of line – like a pit bull with a pretty face.
We could not have made a better choice. Sonya stood by us every step of the way. Dress fitting, meal tasting, cake tasting, meeting with pastor, vendor interviews, rehearsal – she was there for it all! One Sunday, she was with us from morning to evening as we dashed from one meeting to the next. We introduced her to everybody as our 4-star general - but she more than earned that 5th star in the end. Like a well-seasoned military general commanding their forces, she managed our vendors, our venue, and our wedding party. She even helped us keep in budget by arranging our boutonnieres for less than what a florist would charge.
Now, with a heavy-weight like Sonya in our corner everything must have been smooth sailing and gone off without a hitch, right If only! 2PM the day before the wedding, just as I’m leaving the barber with a fresh cut and feeling pretty good about everything, I get the most dreaded text from our pastor. He prefaced the text with “I don’t want to add any more stress on you” and proceeded to let me know he would be unable to officiate the wedding. Needless to say, I was very very stressed. I conveyed the news to my fiancé who was certain I was joking at first. There were a lot of quick calls with Sonya and our family as we scrambled to pull together a Plan B. God’s favor was certainly shining on us that day, however, as we didn’t have far to look. Sonya had just recently received her license to officiate weddings. How many planners have that in their emergency kit!?! We tried a last-ditch effort to re-arrange the ceremony to use our original officiant but at 6am on the morning of our wedding, I had to make the call.
Me: “Good morning, General. Do you think we can still fall back on Plan B?”
Sonya: “Not a problem. Whatever you want.”
After another call to my cousin, an elder in his church, it was set. He and Sonya would tag team: he would perform the ceremonial parts and Sonya would perform the official parts. My wife and I could never forget Sonya even if we wanted to – she was the one that married us! No one outside our wedding party had any clue to the crises that was narrowly averted. To say that Sonya went above and beyond the expectations of a wedding planner would be the understatement of a lifetime. We are forever grateful and could not recommend her highly enough.
We're so happy that we chose the Metropolitan as our reception venue. From our initial venue search, Sally was the ultimate professional in answering all of our questions throughout our entire wedding process. Our guests were thoroughly impressed with our venue and we definitely recommend them if you're looking for a special venue in Chicago!
Pros: View is truly spectacular at sunset and throughout the night. Sally in particular was helpful, responsive, and willing to listen to all of our ideas. We really liked the ability to have almost all of our needs taken care of through the venue (linens, chairs, catering, cake, lighting, etc.). Guests raved about the food and there is flexibility in choosing your menu - the menu tasting itself is a true event - they pull out all the stops to give you an idea of what the food experience will be like on your day. The bakery that works with the venue is also easy to work with and creative in design. The rooms we had reserved allowed for us to have a bridal suite on the same floor, which was helpful during the reception.
Cons: Willis Tower itself is difficult to get any signage around, so can be difficult to get guests where they need to be. Be aware that if you try to get to the Sky Deck Observatory, the Metropolitan has no relationship with the Sky Deck, so you may wait a while to get onto a ledge.
It was a pleasure organizing my proposal with Jenée Allan. I live in Toronto but my fiancée lives in Chicago so I needed some help to carry out my proposal plans. I talked to a few companies that came up on my research but wasn't confident enough to hire them either for budget reasons or their ability to carry out my vision. However, when I talked to Jenée, I was at ease and she made sure all my ideas were incorporated into the proposal and also added some great additional ideas of her own while keeping the price within my budget. We did run into some hiccups regarding venues but her professionalism and knowledge of the city helped to find an even better venue than planned. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Cool atmosphere. Specialty drinks were expensive but you only needed one so not too bad considering. The music was great and with that it’s a little loud (to be expected). We loved it though. Lots to look at. The food was pretty good as well. Service was ok. It was busy and things took awhile. Not unexpected. We would definitely come back!
Whiskey Business is an amazing venue!!! The open rooftop area was a great space for yoga and I can just image his pretty it is at night! I’m definitely coming back with friends to enjoy this new found spot! Our bartender was amazing and kept our bottomless mimosa glasses filled beautifully!!!
