If you're looking for an MC/DJ for your wedding, look no further than Rick at Special Occasion Events. We hired Rick after he was the MC/DJ for 2 different weddings in our friend group. He goes above and beyond every step of the way and is an excellent communicator with the bride and groom and also the other vendors. We loved that he hyped up the wedding party before making the entrance to the reception and continued to hype up the room for speeches, dances, and all of the other important moments. He keeps the dancing energy high by reading the crowd and making sure that the right songs are being played at the right time to fit the vibe. He even leads dances for those who don't know them and makes people feel comfortable joining in. At other weddings we went to with different DJs, it was sometimes unclear what was happening or what would come next throughout the night, but with Rick, the guests always knew what was going on. I first met Rico at my brothers wedding last year in 2021. Him and his DJ did an amazing job. It was to the point where afterwards, I asked him for his information and wanted to use him for my wedding.
Fast forward 2022 November. First of all, through out the process of the wedding, Rico was amazing and kept us excited. He calmed us down and made sure everything will be ok. From his experience and professionalism, I knew that I could trust him to make our wedding go smoothly even if we had a hiccup. He pumped the crowd up and all my friends and family loved him. He acted like his was part of my family by making everyone feel so welcome. Now him and his DJ. Words cannot explain what they did. They snapped! Everyone and I say everyone loved the music. Every single song that was played, people were yelling and screaming and dancing. I had friends who don’t even dance and they all got up and danced. I was so shocked to see them dance but that’s Rico and his Dj for putting up great music and vibes. I’m getting chills as I type this because WOW they did so well. My wife and I are still receiving texts as I type this on how much fun they had how the music was amazing. This is an understatement too.
Hire him and and you will get the best service ever. Rico and his company are very reliable. You won’t regret this. You will be very very satisfied. We miss you already Rico and Dj Magic!!!

We got married on October 9th 2022 at The Bridge Lemont and we could not have asked for a better Emcee and DJ for our wedding day. Rico was amazing to work with from the beginning. Rico provided his expert opinion which was so helpful with the timeline and picking out the perfect songs for each moment on our special day. Throughout the wedding Rico did an amazing job as the Emcee and along with the DJ, they kept the guests dancing and having fun all night. My wife and I knew right when we met Rick (Our MC) that he was going to make our wedding the best party of the century! He exceeded that!
Rick was there for us for 13 months before the wedding all the way to midnight and beyond. We were always in contact with his team and he pretty much organized our entire wedding for us. He took all of our stress away from us and worked with ALL of our venders beautifully. The MC and the DJ had the dance floor FULLY PACKED THE ENTIRE NIGHT!!! People were still dancing when the venue was kicking us all out!
I wish we had enough words to describe how amazing Special Occasion Events was, but there simply aren’t enough words in the English language to do them justice.
All I can say is, Hire them and see for yourself. You will not regret it!

Rick and Maggie are the best! We hired Special Occasion Events for day-of wedding coordination, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Rick and Maggie had a plan from our very first meeting (almost a year before our wedding day), and they helped us structure our wedding every step of the way. They went far beyond simple "day-of" coordination, and they were there to help us at every step in our journey. Rick has a charismatic personality that makes him an excellent planner: he was great at getting everyone excited about the wedding day. Maggie is also fun and outgoing, and she is superbly organized. We didn't have to worry about vendor organization or timelines on our wedding day; my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing that Maggie and Rick had everything under control. On top of everything else, we were able to entrust Rick with the set-up of some of our most personal details - we provided photos and candles, and Rick was able to arrange a beautiful memorial table for us.
