I invited Tia to be the photographer at the birth of my last baby, and I couldn't be happier. Not only did she take the most beautiful, tender pictures, she even helped wipe meconium off of the baby when she saw it needed to be done! Having someone who's not in your family be present while you are in labor can make you feel pretty vulnerable, but I felt totally at ease with Tia there. She was able to capture intimate moments without us even being aware--like a photography ninja! She was warm and totally present with us at the birth without getting in the way of anyone else's role or job. VERY professional. After we returned from the hospital, Tia came to our home to snap some pictures of our family with the baby. I couldn't believe the shots Tia was able to get with our rather stubborn 2.5 yr old. She is awesome with kids and adults alike--it was the most painless family photo shoot I have ever experienced. I can't say enough good things about Tia. My partner and I were planning a big road trip out to the western US from Canada this past fall. We love to travel, but as a photographer myself I am always disappointed that we never have great photos of us together in all the amazing places we have visited (just selfies and tripod/timer photos). This time, I wanted to hire a photographer on one of our stops to capture some professional photos of us together!I found Emily via Google and fell in love with her work...her communication was great. We set a date for a shoot at Arches National Park and met her at the visitor centre - and we immediately clicked as soon as we met! She was friendly and hilarious! During our photoshoot, Emily immediately put us at ease with fun banter and thankfully was not horrified at how ridiculous and goofy Matt and I can be - hahaha! We got along SO well! She knew of so many great sites for photos in Big Cottonwood Canyon and we even trusted her to pick our ceremony site in the canyon day-of based on the best backdrop and lighting. Our photos were done in less than two weeks and are of incredible quality. I love that she uses two cameras, one which takes more landscape type photos and the other more for portraits. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and would choose to use her again.
