I invited Tia to be the photographer at the birth of my last baby, and I couldn't be happier. Not only did she take the most beautiful, tender pictures, she even helped wipe meconium off of the baby when she saw it needed to be done! Having someone who's not in your family be present while you are in labor can make you feel pretty vulnerable, but I felt totally at ease with Tia there. She was able to capture intimate moments without us even being aware--like a photography ninja! She was warm and totally present with us at the birth without getting in the way of anyone else's role or job. VERY professional. After we returned from the hospital, Tia came to our home to snap some pictures of our family with the baby. I couldn't believe the shots Tia was able to get with our rather stubborn 2.5 yr old. She is awesome with kids and adults alike--it was the most painless family photo shoot I have ever experienced. I can't say enough good things about Tia. My only regret is that I didn't have her at the birth of my first baby! If you're on the hunt for a good photographer, who makes you feel comfortable while taking gorgeous photos, congrats! I LOOOOOOOOOOVE all of the pictures that Tia took! Absolutely beautiful! Even during the shoot it was such a blast! She took the time to snap pictures in places where I wouldn't have normally taken them and they turned out to be some of my favorites! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I truly believe that the expression makes the photo! So I try to elicit genuine emotions from my clients! And I know how uncomfortable one can feel in front of the camera, so I give very specific posing direction and then focus on creating that emotion!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What kind of feelings are you hoping to capture at this session? Do you know what you'd like to wear for your session? What kind of background or location do you have envision for your photos?
What do you love most about your job?
I LOVE seeing families and couples connect. The fact that these photos are going to last for generations and be part of history for that family! Something for all their posterity to look at and know them through those photographs just is what makes it feel awesome!
What inspired you to start your own business?
After having my own son in 2011 I wanted to take better pictures of my son and all his milestones. As he grew, so did my knowledge. I LOVE learning about photography and business! I never stop learning and that just helps my business grow and grow!
Why should our clients choose you?
Even thinking about getting photos done can feel stressful. I totally understand! But I will help make it as SMOOTH as possible! I help with all the stressful things, and I promise you'll have a good time!
