I love tutoring and I have great results, even with students who would rather do anything but be tutored. Part of my of success is my UCLA education, part of it is my extensive experience, but my passion for wanting to see students improve and be their best may be the true root of my decades of success. I pasted some reviews below. I can take challenging math concepts and turn them into, “Oh, THAT’S how you do it!” moments. I can help students who hate math understand it better and begin to see it a bit more favorably. And I have the answers to, “Why do I have to even do this?” and “When will I ever have to use this math anyway?” I also build up my students' confidence by pointing out their strengths and unique qualities along the way, which – not surprisingly - actually helps them improve their math performance. I taught my five children at home through high school graduation and was their sole math teacher. They are well-educated and successful in their fields: a State Assistant Attorney General who loved college and MSU Law School, a Doctor of Psychology who also earned two Master’s (4.0 at Pepperdine), an East Coast city budget analyst with a Master's in Public Administration, a trained EMT on a maternity break from nursing school, and an Eagle Scout who just graduated with his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. One of my highest tutoring accolades is that my own children highly recommend me! My tutoring students have had great improvements and success as we have worked online and in-person. I work with all grade levels, with students ranging from challenged to gifted. I help tutees learn new subjects, improve mediocre grades, rescue themselves from failing, and prep for the SAT (my own 2019 SAT score: 99th percentile). I have taught and tutored English, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies, and more. Lately, I have been tutoring many high school students in IM 1, 2, and 3 as well as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus.
