Brittney Rietow has been working professionally with dogs since 2013 and became a CPDT-KA certified trainer in 2019. After working in doggy day cares, boarding facilities, and pet supply stores for several years, her passion for our four-legged friends really blossomed when she began teaching humans to better communicate with their dogs using positive reinforcement training.
Believing strongly in the importance of developing a holistic approach to dog training, Brittney knows that to establish a lasting bond with a canine companion it takes more than training alone.
Brittney has been a wonderful, professional, and understanding trainer. We have a shepherd/blue healer mix that was only 6 months old and was struggling with severe anxiety. During our first few training sessions he would cry the whole time out of fear. I am happy to say that after several months of quality training and patience by Brittney that our dogs anxiety and fear has gone down dramatically. 5/5 great trainer with alot of patience.

I am very impressed with this place!! I boarded my pup for 3 nights, when I went to pick her up I asked how she did and they were honest with me. I really appreciate it when they tell you honestly if they ate or not. People are so friendly in there and prices are awesome! Will absolutely bring my dog back anytime we go somewhere!
Haven't use there services yet but the lady I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. Was able to answer all my questions. Planning on using them going forward.Update I changed my review to a 5 star. I just had my girl here yesterday. My dog Molly had a great day. I know this cause she came out of here with her tail wagging. The ladies here were so nice and friendly. This will be our to go place gong forward. Highly recommend.
Molly is a wonderful dog trainer. In one session she helped more with Gus (bulldog, 8 months) than in the previous 6 months of other classes and lessons from books. Great tips and follow up, very easy to work with. Would recommend to anyone in need of dog training!
5/16/2017 - Outstanding person! Carrie has taught me as well as my dog lol. From puppy hood to an adult. I was a first time parent to a dog (female boxer). She is easy to work with and always has time for advise or instruction. I would totally recommend Carrie.
Aaron was unbelievable! Our Doberman was way out of control, so bad she was not aloud in the house. After the train and board program with Aaron we now have a totally different dog! She is always in the house and is very well behaved. 100% recommended!
I highly recommend Canine Country for both training and boarding. I adopted a dog with a lot of emotional baggage (abused, abandoned 3 times, attacked at least twice-2 Rottweilers and a Pitbull). She had an extreme fear of being abandoned and became disoriented when I would leave her. She also would pull me on walks and lunge and snap at other dogs. This made our daily walks unpleasant and I could never keep her with other dogs. I had taken her to traditional training classes as well as training specifically for reactive dogs when she was younger with minimal and short lived results. At 6 years old, fully mature and set in her ways, I decided to take a new approach and went to Canine Country. They do not use the typical treat based training philosophy at all. The best way that I can describe their technique is that you must establish yourself as a strong pack leader so that they don’t feel the need (and stress associated) with dominant behavior (tugging, barking, lunging in my case). If you have ever read or watched The Dog Whisperer-Caesar Milan, I would say that their approach is fairly close but a bit more dominant. The key that they teach you is to be a consistent leader. No treats or bribes are required. My dog is so much calmer now as I think that she is not worried about trying to lead. I was shocked to find her communing peacefully with other dogs in an open environment after boarding her there for 3 days. I have had her back for about a month now and she continues to improve. This is not the place for you if you think that you can drop your dog off to be fixed, take them back home and live happily ever after. They can train your dog to be perfectly behaved but if you don’t establish yourself as a pack leader by consistently following the techniques at home, they will not respect your leadership and could revert back to their dominant behavior. Barking, jumping, lunging, pulling, and worse are all a symptom of them not respecting your leadership. If you are willing to embrace this technique and consistently follow it at home, you will have a much happier, well-adjusted and behaved dog. They gave me homework when I took her back and the owner has even checked in with me to follow up on my progress, offered tips for challenges and got on me to keep me accountable for the things that I had not followed. The training program is good for life so I can expect continuing support if things start to slip or any new issues arise which is nice.
Brand new business in the area! We've been waiting for something like this, too! It's reasonable and the facility is clean...and the owner loves dogs! I brought my two dogs there (40 lb terrier mix... and a 12 lb doxipoo) for opening day... and they had a blast. Lots of other dogs to play with, and plenty of space. Wags did a prescreening/interview of each visiting dog. I wasn't at all worried about my little guy getting hurt.
My husband and I love this place and everyone here. You can tell they all passionately care about all of the dogs as well as their owners. We’ve taken all the classes they have to offer (Worth every penny) and continue to use them for boarding and daycare. A great member of the Kenton community, they go above and beyond.
My highest recommendation goes to Samuel and Power Skill Training. Samuel met my special needs puppy Bear last year and immediately started working with him. Samuel's patient, warm, and effective manner was a huge hit with Bear. Bear calms down quickly and is able to follow commands in Samuel care. We feel so thankful that Power Skill Training is in our community to take care of and assist with Bear at any time. Moreover, Samuel's confidence and direction has helped me work with Bear in more productive ways. I have learned so much! It is without any hesitation that I would refer anyone looking for excellent training in supportive, positive and pro-active ways to Power Skills Training!
We adopted our standard poodle from the humane society and after we brought her home, found she was withdrawn, easily spooked and did not care for any interaction with us. After having her for a year and making little progress, we decided there must be more that we could do for her to get her more adjusted and hopefully have a happy dog. Dawn has made astonishing progress with our Rosey who now asks/demands for the touch therapy she taught us. She has gained confidence, security and is greatly coming out of her shell. We could not recommend this MORE for your pet if it is needed.
