What do you love most about your job?
It is our firm belief that a loving dog is never too old, young, wild, lazy, or silly to learn a new trick and to watch these wonderful canines eyes light up when they finally get a trick right and see how happy it makes their handler is just such a rewarding experience that I couldn’t possibly ever imagine doing another job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My K-9, Shiva, inspired me to start the Tigard School of K-9 Obedience- she had such a rough start in life, but she still worked so hard at her training just to make me happy. It helped me realize a very basic truth about canines- they want a job, a purpose, a reason for their lives because they want to show us how much they love us- obedience training gives them that. Training is a wonderful communication tool that can be established between handler and K-9 and the trainers here at the Tigard School for K-9 Obedience are trainers not only to help the dog, but also to help the handler read, respond, and respect their K-9 every step of the way so that each session can be tailored to what works best for them.

When we help train a dog we not only help bring peace and harmony into a home- we help open up a line of communication between individuals from two different species- we teach you how to talk to your K-9 and how to hear and understand what your K-9 is trying to say to you.
