What do you love most about your job?

I love helping people feel better about themselves and live their best life, either health wise as a personal trainer or showing them how to create the relationship with their dog they've always wanted..or both!

What inspired you to start your own business?

When I was two I opened the whimpering box under the Christmas tree to discover a golden retriever puppy. We had an instant irrevocable bond. It was Sandy's friendship that inspired my love of animals.

While away at college, and far from the unconditional support of the following four-legged family member, Ginger, I discovered her interest in health and fitness. I started to walk and take group fitness classes, enjoying the physical and mental benefits of being active.

In January of 2009, in hopes to return just some of the tenderness that Sandy and Ginger shared with her, I began volunteering at L.A. Animal Services North Central Shelter*. I quickly gained respect as an experienced and trustworthy dog handler and even began teaching other volunteers how to handle and train the shelter dogs. It is both heart breaking and tremendously rewarding work. I adopted her beautiful Belgian Malinois mix, Berlin, from this shelter in 2010.

At this same time my fitness regime had progressed and I was participating in full and half marathons. Now my favorite part about participating in a race was not crossing the finish line but training with my best buddy. Berlin and I have even walked and ran in several 5Ks and 10Ks together.

I soon realized that I could help others feel the joy of staying healthy as a team and launched Feet & Paws Fitness. I love combining her fitness education with my dog training skills and helping people and their dogs be healthy and happy TOGETHER!

Why should our clients choose you?

I enjoy working with clients of all types with a variety of goals. For personal training, I specialize in functional fitness, helping you strengthen your body to better perform daily tasks. For dog training, after 10+ years of experience working with dogs as a trainer and shelter volunteer, I enjoy working with all breeds and specialize in helping people create a confident and calm canine companion.
