I made an appointment with Modern Canine Services because my adopted dachshund mixes Link and Nomi had some major stranger danger issues. Nomi would charge strangers and bark at them aggressively and Link would snap if approached. Jim came to my house and immediately understood what was happening. The focus of the session was training ME how to change MY behavior and how the way I reacted actually made my dogs behavior worse. After a few months of following Jim's instructions I have two completely different dogs! Nomi now begs for attention from strangers, and Link allows guests to pet him! I can honestly say hiring Modern Canine Services was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Alyssa is absolutely the best! She took our dog peach and did a total 180 with her. After our initial conversation we decided as a group that it was in Peach’s best interest to do a board and train. I was definitely hesitant to give my fur family member to someone for 4 weeks but Alyssa made me so comfortable and confident in the decision. She kept in touch the entire four weeks with text, video and photo updates! It was amazing to see peach make major strides so quickly and we couldn’t have done it with Canyon State Canine! Bringing peach home has been amazing, she is still following commands and keeping up the amazing behavior. We even took her on public outings already and it’s so much better. I have never used a home based pet service before, but I will definitely be coming back if I ever need a sitter again. Nancy was very nice and great with my dog, and her prices are fantastic; I can have all three of my dogs here for an entire day for the same cost of one dog at a pet resort for a few hours. The home was clean and the backyard was very spacious. The free water activities are a big bonus in this heat, and she even gave him a little bath, all for $10!
