Live music may also be added to event for cocktail hour and/or dinner hour. Michael is also an Ordained Minister and can Officiate at Wedding Ceremonies.
After 40 years of DJ performance experience I can say that there are several dynamics to a successful party. Over those years of experience I have gained a great knowledge of all the different genres of music. As a Professional Musician of 50 years and over 1000 functions performed, I have strong abilities to read the crowd; this is paying very close attention to how the crowd is reacting to the music playing. Noting the demographics of the crowd also helps to determine what songs to play.
In short, the main ingredient is for the DJ to be completely dialed into the party, the responses on the dance floor, and having a commanding knowledge of music!
I love to party myself! If I was a guest at a function having a DJ, I would hope that they play a nice variety of music and are acceptable to taking requests. I would hope that they have an extensive library of tunes.
Back in the day, I used to use cassette tapes and CD's !! (Before the internet ! :) So, the number of tunes available was very limited.
