We went on a Tuesday evening for dinner with a Groupon. We had a 6pm reservation made that day at 3:15. We were greeted promptly and seated. Bread was brought almost immediately with butter. The bread was great and you could tell it was fresh. Our waitress who also served as bartender seemed a bit hurried as she was the only server there with one helper, who also was the hostess. Being a Tuesday, they kept up very well with an average crowd, about half full. We ordered salads and our entrees right away as we had previously perused the menu. Unfortunately the salads lettuce was not very fresh and some brown? Our entrees were wonderful, Salmon Alfredo and Scallops alla Abruzzo. We never mentioned our Groupon until the bill came and they made no mention of it. We love the little restaurant atmosphere and will definitely be back.
Very busy solo waitress. Did her best but never got any refills or anything on beverages. We ordered a side of cactus that we never received. She comped our beverages as an apology. Food had good flavor! Just needed some more help in kitchen and serving as they were busy.
Great food and a great atmosphere. Our server described menu items with great adjectives, as well as being very knowledgable about cooking herself. Talking about everything from rendering fats for gravy, to pickled greens to add a bit of acidity to the plate. I got a special that wasn't on the menu, Hot Chicken. Wonderfully breaded and fried, then rolled in a cayenne oil, topped with pickled greens, and some fries on the side. Complimentary cornbread as well. It's a popular spot. Even on a Wednesday night, it was packed within an hour of opening. So reservations, or showing up before the doors open, is a great idea.
The food here was very delicious. A true Milwaukee experience. I utilized and recommend the create your own menu. It features 5 sausages, over ten toppings, and several cheeses for endless combinations of savory goodness. I got a Polish dog with bacon and mozzarella cheese with the best cheese curds I've had in my limited time in Wisconsin. Others in my group got a brat, chicken wings, a spicy Hungarian dog, and a burger. All were impressed and extremely satisfied. The curds we're so good that we had to get a second round because the first order lasted less than three minutes. I also found the service to be friendly and good. I will make sure I eat here every time I come back to visit. I highly recommend this place.
Went to Milwaukee today to get watermelons from a truck. I stumbled upon your place today but you were closed. You graciously opened the doors to sell some to me. In the end walked out with watermelons, sweet corn and free range eggs. I will definitle refer people to your business. Thank you so much!!
Staying at this hotel was a surprise from my wife on our way to Sturgis for Bike Week. It was beautiful inside and the rooms were incredible. It definitely had the smell and wood factory look and felt biker but was too yuppie/hipster for me. I am old school and miss the days of real bikers and the true understanding of wha trading is all about. It wasn't here. Although the food in the restaurant was delicious and top notch it too was hipster, modern, and too gourmet. No real food, good old American fare or anything that a real biker would eat. Breakfast was the same. Menu, hotel, entire place is not for anyone who really rides their bikes and lives the lifestyle. Front desk people was excellent and super accommodating. Restaurant staff were also excellent, perfect. Valet staff when I arrived were great, when I was leaving the guy I dealt with had an attitude problem. That's it.
