Remodels, additions, and garage/attic/basement conversions are $5000-7500 for design. If engineering is required, those fees are additional. Some projects only need $1000 engineering to remove a wall and add a beam, while others need $5000 to improve foundations for a second story. Contact us for more info! Josh at Candid Home Design dot com. Couple of estimates: typical residential new construction will cost approximately $12k for Design and $12k for engineering for 1500-3000 Sq ft.

My name is Corey Cliffe, and I’ve been a practicing architect in Portland, Oregon since 1996. I’ve had my own practice since 2004, where I have been mostly working with individuals & couples to develop designs for home remodels, additions, and new homes. I’ve also done some small commercial projects, but I really enjoy working with folks to make their homes more comfortable, functional, and a better reflection of their personality and style.

We are an award winning planning, architecture, and interior design firm which believes in responding to our client and building user needs and budgets. We design in all styles. As we are also general contractors, we know costs and construction. We have significant experience in new construction and remodeling apartments, houses. retail, and institutional projects. As an added feature, we offer Brainstorm Design Sessions, where, for a reasonable fee, we produce design sketches and a conceptual construction cost estimate of the design to give you a perspective on what is possible for your project without committing to the typical full services of an architect.

I bought a "project" house in 2014. This place was stuck the 70s and every single room needed a makeover. I saw this place as an opportunity to to take a "blank" canvas and make it into exactly what I wanted. I figured it would be fun to develop my handyman skills in the process. As I started going through the house, I kept getting more (and more ambitious) ideas. Many of which depended on one another or required a feasibility analysis from an "expert". That's when I called Bruce to come in and help me get all my ideas organized through one of his "Brainstorm" sessions. Bruce is awesome! He came out and took a look at the place, including crawling around in the attic, measuring everything and listening to all my ideas. I really appreciated the time he took to make additional trips out to the site, and the several phone calls to walk through ideas and clarify priorities. I felt I could be completely direct and candid without offending him, which is important to me. In the end, he helped me see what was possible with this place, by providing several sketches detailing some great solutions (that I hadn't even considered) to many of the issues I encountered, and an overall "plan" with a very detailed cost estimate. I am taking my time working on this house, but I intend to engage Bruce throughout the process whenever I need to call in an expert.

Ashton helped design our 3 year-old sons room!We did not have a great idea of what we wanted going into the process but had a few inspiration pictures to share with her. Ashton asked the right questions to help her build a mood board that was on right on point with what we envisioned. She provided us with a multiple options for furniture, paint colors, decals, accessories....that were also within our budget!!!Ashton was willing to customize her design process to meet our needs. She was extremely personable and patient with our delayed responses and indecisiveness. She never made you feel like you were asking to many questions and was always willing to tweak things to get the final design we had hoped for!She truly has a natural talent for designing! We asked for a cozy, camping/forest theme with a twilight feel.... and she came back with exactly what we had hoped for and then some!We can’t wait to use Ashton again for our future projects! She is very reasonably priced and overall just a fun person to work with! Thanks for all your help Ashton! You made our 3 year-old's “early Christmas” present a complete success!

My husband and I were looking for someone to help design our home renovation. On the same footprint, with help from Korbich Architects, we were able to convert our second floor from 2 bedrooms/no bathroom to 3 bedrooms/1 bathroom and a laundry room.
Jennifer and Steve were professional and a pleasure to work with. They listened to our needs and tried to make things work as efficiently as possible. We highly recommend them.
