I first met Paul and Stephanie at a wedding that I was photographing. They were not only great vendors to work with, their food was the best food, hands down, that I have ever had at a wedding - and I'm a wedding photographer so I eat a lot of wedding food. Honestly, the prime rib that they served at that wedding is the best prime rib that I have ever had ANYWHERE.
Since that wedding I've had the opportunity to attend and photograph 4 other events that Paul and Stephanie have cooked for or catered. I recommend them to every couple that I work with.
The food is fantastic. I could write pages and pages telling you how good their food is. I LOVE food and their food is incredible. Anyone who has had it will gush about it.
Second to the taste of the food, and almost important, I believe, as a person who sees a lot of events, is that they are organized. When I say that, I mean that they lay buffets out in a logical way, they are set up on time, they have the staff there available to guide your guests through the food. THEY MAKE THINGS RUN SMOOTHLY. People think that the food is important, but if no one knows what to do, or when to start, the annoyance will overrule any thoughts that they have about the food.
Last of all, they are nice people. Easy and fun to work with. Personable with good professional boundaries. It's like working with your most capable, reliable friend who know when it's time to go home.

And, the food was excellent! We used him for our mom's Celebration of Life. He helped manage costs and talked us off the ledge at the last minute when we were panicking about quantities. Savory Kitchen catered my company party last night and we were extremely pleased with the results. The food was plentiful and delicious - creative menu with interesting and unexpected flavors. The buffet was set up very attractively with table cloths, different levels for visual interest, flowers and little signs identifying each dish as well as the overall menu. Darrin provided extra glassware, ice, and even pitchers of ice water with fruit slices. The whole experience was professional and exactly what we expected.

This place is awesome and still somewhat undiscovered - except to Ballardites. Their slow joe pork sandwich is to die for, and their brisket is as good or better than I've had in Texas. Smoked chicken is really good too, but you can only get it after 4:30pm, for some reason. They dry rub all their meats and serve up sauce on the side, so if you are of the saucy persuasion, this will be a different experience. C. Gaffney
