I love the variety of people and experiences that working with cameras has brought into my life. From polished corporate work to action sports to live music and everything in between, this career has taken me all across the USA, into Mexico and over to China and Japan. The more moments I capture and people I connect with, the more I see how we all are connected and share so much in common. Capturing authentic human emotion and intention is what fuels my hustle in this competitive and often under-valued profession.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my journey with photography when I was 16, working with a fairly sophisticated and incredibly talented Santa Claus. Go ahead and laugh but that taught me so much about working with people, working on tight deadlines, and handling high-stress environments. Since then I've worked in commercial radio, television news, internet streaming, e-marketing and the music industry. After relocating from Washington, DC to San Diego, CA, the full-time corporate world wasn't very appealing so instead, I began working with a variety of companies and individuals as BPM.photo.
Why should our clients choose you?
Aside from my rigorous work ethic, I might be the most relaxed, maniacally creative person in town! I keep a cool head but flashing inside my head are a flood of ideas and an huge amount of attention to the details during a shoot. I notice things others don't. I think ahead instead of dealing with only what's in front of me. How will this decision impact the next and ultimately the end product?
When I tell my peers about my background, they usually can't believe the wide range of roles I've played and content I've produced. How did I go from there to way over there? How did I get to work this client or that company? I can only answer it like this... ALL of the skills I have developed compliment and play into each other. I see everything like I experience music: refined or raw, soft or loud, everything is about timing and creating a mood. The images I create are diverse, just like my record collection.
