Katrina Wreede Musical Groups

I provide elegant, professional string ensembles and solo instrumentalists to discriminating brides, clients and guests in the Bay Area's most beautiful event venues and homes. The song list for each event is tailored to your tastes and needs. You can choose from strings playing contemporary pop, classic rock, classical, Baroque, Sinatra, jazz, swing, Continental/French/Italian, and more. There is a lot of helpful information on the website to help you choose the right size ensemble and instruments and lots of sound and video clips, too. My very favorite thing is solo violin for surprise marriage proposals. If this is you, please request the "proposal discount".

What do you love most about your job?

I get to experience the sound of live music every day.

Many people don't realize how very special it is to hear live music instead of recorded music. It's not just that live musicians are better able to respond and choreograph the music to fit exactly what's happening. It's the difference between smelling real flowers versus looking at photos of flowers.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I love meeting new people and helping them realize their dreams with music. It just makes sense to do it as a business. I also teach, compose and perform in concert, but providing the soundtrack for one of the most important days of someone's life is a big responsibility that I take very seriously and enjoy very much.

Why should our clients choose you?

Clients should choose the music that best fits their tastes and budget. I offer a wide range of styles and instrument combinations that has many different options. If I can't provide exactly what someone needs, I'm happy to refer them to a trusted colleague.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, I can teach online and I've also performed for virtual events, including weddings.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

If I am performing in person during Covid, I ask that I am separated from the guests and other vendors by the largest distance possible and that I perform outside if at all reasonable. My other musicians and I wear masks at all times and do not interact with guests. Cancellations due to Covid can be rescheduled to a later date without waiving the deposit unless we are already booked for the new time. If that happens, I can also provide a substitute. All music lessons are online until further notice.
