What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Planning. Pure and simple. Working with my client to fully understand their needs and ensuring they know exactly how I will meet them.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

1) What do you need to be photographed? 2) When do you need to have the shots taken? 3) Where do they need to be shot? 4) How many different shots are needed? 5) Is retouching necessary? 6) How soon are the final images needed after the shoot? 7) How will the images be used?

What do you love most about your job?

Looking through the final images after a shoot is complete to see how I've exceeded my client's expectations.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I worked as an art director and brand manager for a Fortune 125 company for over 20 years. During my tenure in those roles, I was responsible for commissioning many types of photography. I worked with many great photographers and was able to learn the trade under their expert guidance. A couple of years ago, I purchased my own equipment, retired from my corporate job and started The Machine Photography. I can now select the projects I want to work on and focus on delivering the best possible images for my clients.

Why should our clients choose you?

Throughout my career, various mentors and clients have referred to me as, "the machine," as a reflection of my work ethic. From planning to execution to delivery, I focus on every aspect of a shoot to ensure my clients know exactly what they can expect at every step. I strive to not only provide top quality images but ensure that my customers have a great experience throughout the project.
