What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

It takes more than just a good camera to take a great photograph. A photographer needs a good "eye" and needs training to perfect the art of composition, lighting, posing, etc. Tom has been a professional photographer for over 30 years. He has attended many continuing education classes over the years through the Professional Photographers of America, Southeast Professional Photographers Association, Florida Professional Photographers, and Panhandle Professional Photographers (Destin, FL). He also learns new techniques through on-line webinars and videos. Most of all, he practices and plans before each portrait session or wedding.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

For photography, we'll need the basic information first, such as what type of photography you need: wedding or other event, family portrait, senior portrait, engagement portraits, etc, and we'll need the date and location of the photo session. Next we'll discuss the length of time you will need us. If it's a wedding, we need to know if you want photos before the wedding of people getting ready and decorating the venue and if you want photos at the reception. We will also need to know approximately how many people you are expecting to attend and how many attendants (bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc) you will have. With that information, we can recommend a wedding photography package. We will send you a list of our packages and prices, but what you think will fit into an hour may not actually be accurate. Of course, we will be glad to customize a pack to fit your budget.

For portrait photography, we have standard prices, so we'll need the date, location, type of photos needed (engagement, family portrait, etc).

Our officiant will need to know the date and location of the wedding and if you need a rehearsal. She'll also ask about the type of ceremony that you want.

What do you love most about your job?

We're very outgoing and love meeting new people. We also enjoy being outdoors. Central Alabama is blessed with natural beauty, serving as a gorgeous backdrop for an array of memorable occasions, such as weddings, family events, and other special events. Our professions as photographer and wedding officiant give us the opportunity to meet all types of people and to work outdoors.

At Photocraft by Tom Warriner, we pride ourselves on capturing beautiful photographs for each and every client who’s looking to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. Our goal is to help make every client's occasion perfect.

Why should our clients choose you?

Here at Photocraft by Tom Warriner, we do not just capture your wedding with photography. We can also preside over your ceremony, in a park or a gorgeous local estate or at your chosen indoor venue.
