We found confetti counture right at the last minute of almost having to postpone or cancel our daughters Sweet 16 party. We couldn’t find a place that charged a reasonable amount!! Erika, our lead planner, was an absolute pleasure to work with and made the wedding planning process so much smoother. Her experience and knowledge in the wedding field was unmatched and having her point of view was a must when coordinating with our venue and vendors.
Leading up to our wedding day, Erika handled all the vendor communication regarding timeline and last-minute details, taking stress away from us and giving us the time to enjoy the excitement. Our day-of went perfectly thanks to Erika! I have a much different background than others who are in the events industry. Mine started with all things spooky and eerie, in haunted attractions! I have been running professional haunted events since junior high.
Throughout these experiences, I picked up a wide variety of skills relevant to the events industry from creating event budgets to managing volunteers and designing. From this, I fell in love with events and planning. Spreadsheets especially, as crazy as it sounds. I started volunteering more on local, non-profit, community events in my neighborhood and helping out here and there on school events at the time.
Through my volunteerism with local events and the operation of haunted houses, I completely changed the direction of my life during my last few years of high school. I ditched the college applications and decided I was going to hit the ground running to start Treadway Events–A themed event planning and production company as an 18-year-old with no “real” on the job experience.
