I have been getting massages and Myofascial Release with Rachelle Manieri for over a year. Â She does a fabulous job. Â Rachelle always seems to know the source of the pain or discomfort that I have and she is able to get rid of the pain through massage. Â Rachelle is very caring and is always going above and beyond to assist her patients. Â Once, I was having a problem with the skin on my forehead being very tight. Â The next time that I saw Rachelle, she remembered this problem and gave me some oil that got rid of the skin irritation. Â I was also in the hospital a few months ago and she came to visit me there. Â I enthusiastically recommend Rachelle for your massage needs. Â You will be very happy with the treatment you receive.

I came in this salon for a pedicure and haircut/color and brows. The tech who did my pedi was Muna. I am very particular about my pedicures and how my nails should look. She's got great attention to detail and technique. Perfect pressure for scrub, very relaxing. She was so lovely and down to earth. I was impressed with the cleanliness, quality of work and excellent service she offered. I was so happy with her! I will only ask for her from now on.Next was my haircut. I asked for Sean, he is amazing! He listens to what you need and knows exactly what you mean even when you dont articulate it well. I also let him color my hair, it turned out fantastic! It looked so rich and shiny. The product he used worked like magic on my hair. I never seen my hair look so healthy . I get compliments everywhere I go. He has got himself a repeat customer forever! Finally I asked if they had someone to clean my eyebrows.I am very particular about eyebrows as well. This time Aster did them. She did incredible work. She took her time and gave me a very nice shape. She made them look fuller and very even. I am looking forward to return to scruples for my services. Excellent Work!!!

Jessica did an AWESOME job today. Probably one of the best massages ever and having fibromyalgia I have had a lot of massages. She hit trigger points in areas that have been bothering me for years that no one else has ever found before. She is priced fair and very nice. 5 stars and totally recommended! :-)

What a beautiful space! This spa is exactly what Niles has needed for years, now!The staff is equally as warm as the space, from the receptionist helping me schedule my appointment, to the esthetician that took care of me once I arrived. I have officially made this my go-to spot, when I'm in need of some pampering and also some basic face and body maintenance. Book your appointments now, as they will undoubtedly be booking up soon, in anticipation of the holiday season fast approaching. Thank you to everyone at Aura Spa for opening your doors to us! Look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Welcoming warm space. I had a great experience here, could recommend to anyone! Being a holistic practitioner myself I did enjoy and appreciate Yosef's' deep wisdom & light warm energy he shares with his customers. Even upon a first visit I felt like I was welcomed home. Coming with a back pain for acupuncture ~ leaving feeling lighter, more open, relaxed, uplifted with LESS pain & more awareness on how to take a better care of myself made my day!!! Thank you! :)

Great place to get even just a  ten minute chair massage.  I have had a sharp pain in my back for  over a year that noone else could help me with and in 15 minutes Zorka (the massage therapist) took care of it in a  chair massage. Not too mention I was treated with such GREAT SERVICE!  Everything from making me coffee to consulting me on ways to prevent it happening again.  I have been there now 3 times in 2 months as  a special treat for myself. Each time I leave so wonderfully realaxed and in a great mood no matter how stressed out I was when I came in. Definately worth checking out, especially because she will give you a free chair massage so you can decide for yourself.

I have been seeing Leo for approximately three years. I used to see him at the Schaumburg location. He is amazing! Extremely knowledgeable. I have bad rotator cuff's, wrist issues, carpal tunnel, i'm a mess. Every time I see him we go over my specific needs for the day. He gets the job done! He's very professional and I highly recommend him. I don't even want to tell everybody how good he is because I don't want him to be unavailable when I need him!

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
