Ok, I admit I was a little skeptical when I saw Midwest VIP DJs statement of 15 years experience with no Yelp reviews. I hired him to perform at my Mom's 90th Surprise Birthday party, but I figured if he didn't do a good job i would  just ask him to leave early, and the party would still turn out okay. However, Ron was FANTASTIC!! He was professional from start to finish. He was on time with his equipment set up ready to go when the guests started arriving. He kept the party flowing and was flexible and responsive to changes in the flow of the party.  The highlight of his performance was definitely during the post-dinner dance party. Great spinning in keeping with the general guidelines I provided on music. Plus he took requests from a wide variety of music genres. Everyone had a great time and even my Mom was out there cutting a rug!  And to top it it off, Ron was the least expensive of those I interviewed!  I was exceptionally pleased with his performance and would definitely use his services again if I had the need. He is definitely your best bet if you are looking for a DJ in the Chicago area!!

Oh my gosh. This was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. I won't lie - I didn't initially want a DJ. My husband was the one who insisted on one. But I'm really really glad he did! They did so much more than just play music and MC things.
I found out later when they got there early they started helping get the centerpieces and lanterns in the hall lit up before people got there.
When our wedding party was waiting outside the reception venue on us to wrap up photos so they could make the grand entrance, they went and took drink orders for them.
When one of my guests was wheelchair bound, they brought the instant camera and guest book for the photo booth over to him so he could be a part of it.
They got us drinks so we could actually eat and visit and mingle. They were helping get people desserts, mingling and clearing out glasses.
The music was all spot on, the flow of the evening was perfect. He did just an excellent job with MCing and keeping things moving smoothly. Ended up being absolutely invaluable to the day and I'm so glad Matt insisted on hiring them!

I scheduled Elsa for my daughter's 9th birthday and was highly impressed with the performer (Anna.) I was a little apprehensive to use this company because of some bad reviews regarding performers not arriving on time or at all. Diane, the owner told me not to worry and that she would have the performer call me. Anna did call me and she told me exactly how everything will play out the day of. She kept in contact throughout the week leading up to the party. She arrived just before the scheduled party time and made her grand entrance. All of the children attending were in awe and had a great time. The performance was well worth the price and my daughter loved every minute of it. Thanks for making my daughter's party a memorable one.

I went to a party a few weekend ago at Galvin's, and Sonic Lizard was running the karaoke show. They had a really great selection of tunes, and kept the rotation flowing. I particularly liked that they ensured everyone had a chance. This was difficult for me, since I think I'm some kind of karaoke star but, after all, fair is fair. It was a really fun party and everyone had a great time showing off their performance skills. From what I understand, this team (I'm assuming husband and wife?) has regular gigs throughout the city (and possibly the burbs?). I remember the guy telling me they do Tuesdays at Purple Haze so maybe I'll have to check them out!
