STAY AWAY FROM Hire the DJ!!! They do Not Pay the DJs they hire. I was called last minute by James Sheffield from Hirethedj. com. Bcuz it was last minute, there was no time for my required deposit, so he said I would be paid in cash when arrived at the class reunion event. The class president in charge said he paid in full and all payments will come thru htdj who hired me. James then changed his story half way thru my gig, and kept changing it, and I never got paid. This company does not return calls. Then Michelle G., who replied to my email complaint, gave me an entirely unrelated irrelevant cheap excuse then stopped responding after I challenge her stupid excuse. THEY ARE BAD BUSINESS, STAY COMPLETELY AWAY!!!!! More...

Ok, I admit I was a little skeptical when I saw Midwest VIP DJs statement of 15 years experience with no Yelp reviews. I hired him to perform at my Mom's 90th Surprise Birthday party, but I figured if he didn't do a good job i would  just ask him to leave early, and the party would still turn out okay. However, Ron was FANTASTIC!! He was professional from start to finish. He was on time with his equipment set up ready to go when the guests started arriving. He kept the party flowing and was flexible and responsive to changes in the flow of the party.  The highlight of his performance was definitely during the post-dinner dance party. Great spinning in keeping with the general guidelines I provided on music. Plus he took requests from a wide variety of music genres. Everyone had a great time and even my Mom was out there cutting a rug!  And to top it it off, Ron was the least expensive of those I interviewed!  I was exceptionally pleased with his performance and would definitely use his services again if I had the need. He is definitely your best bet if you are looking for a DJ in the Chicago area!! More...

What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
I know how to "read" the crowd and with a mix of taking requests and paying attention to what the guests are dancing to, I am able to change the music to make sure that everyone is out there having a great time.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I am interactive and make announcements to get people out dancing, I'll also join in to participation songs like the Cha Cha slide to try and get everyone out dancing. I'm not over the top and not low key. I'm kind of in the middle with just the right amount of interaction without being overwhelming.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that I can see people out and having a great time at events. I love seeing someone get so happy when their favorite song comes on.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always believed in owning my own company because I can control how it operates and most importantly control the customer experience. Because if you're not satisfied, I'm not satisfied.
