‘20 Certificate of Excellence

I LOVE taking pictures of people! I first fell for portrait photography on a college choir trip in 2014, and I never looked back. I specialize in headshots and portraits for performers, but I also love doing corporate/business headshots, creative portrait shoots, couples and engagements, and group shoots. I am very easygoing and conversational – I do my best to make my subjects feel comfortable, engaged, and appreciated in every photo shoot, and my primary goal is to make each subject look their absolute best! I love the creative challenge of photographing people. Each person brings their own set of unique physical and personality traits, and I find it very rewarding to be presented with a brand new combination of factors and figure out how to make all of those specific qualities shine through in a photograph that fully captures the subject. I hope to work with you soon!

What do you love most about your job?

I love making people feel good about themselves. When people say "oh, I'm not photogenic", I take that as a challenge. I believe that if I can make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, you'll look just as gorgeous on film as you do in real life.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My dad has been a photographer my whole life, and I grew up watching him work in his studio. When I was in college, I finally felt inspired to pick up my own camera while traveling through Europe. With my dad's guidance and quite a bit of support from my friends in the early days, I was able to hone my skills as a portrait photographer, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Initially I just took pictures of whoever was willing to pose for me, but as I became more confident in my abilities, I decided to turn it into a job. Since starting Amy Livingston Photography, I've been able to make money doing what I'm passionate about, which is one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Why should our clients choose you?

I very upbeat and conversational, so I always want my photoshoots to be as comfortable as possible. I'll talk you through the whole thing and try to get to know you a little bit, so you don't feel like you're standing stiffly in front of a stranger with a camera. I am also very confident in my skill, which I have been building steadily since I started this work six years ago. I believe I can make you look and feel your absolute best, and I can't wait to work with you!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Because we are unfortunately still deep in the Covid-19 pandemic, I am very motivated to take whatever health and safety precautions I can in order to keep both myself and my clients safe.

I am fully vaccinated, but I am more than happy to wear a mask during our session, whether we are shooting indoor or outdoors. Luckily, portrait photography does not require any physical contact between me and my subject(s), so I will keep a minimum of 6 feet between us at all times!
