About

I LOVE taking pictures of people! I first fell for portrait photography on a college choir trip in 2014, and I never looked back. I specialize in headshots and portraits for performers, but I also love doing corporate/business headshots, creative portrait shoots, couples and engagements, and group shoots.

Amy did an amazing job on my photoshoot for my business. My headshots came out amazing. Amy is amazing to work with, knows what she is doing, and the final photos really show it. I couldn't be happier. She will be my go-to photographer from here on out. Thanks, Amy for the awesome and amazing work! More...

I am so glad that I found Amy to do my headshots! I’m applying to medical school and needed them for my secondary applications. I could tell that she took the time to find an outdoor location that would fit my needs and felt she was very knowledgeable overall. Being that it was my first time getting professional headshots, I wasn’t exactly sure what to do and I was nervous. Amy made it fun and offered guidance throughout the shoot. The pricing was perfect, and I honestly thought I should have paid more for all of the work she did. I couldn’t be happier with how the photos turned out. Thank you, Amy!! More...

Q&As

For portraits, the secret is getting my subject's personality to shine through the picture. It's not just about making the person look as nice as possible (though that's a very important part!), it's about creating an image that captures that person's best qualities. I always want to work a little magic during my photoshoots and take pictures that make it seem like I've known the person for years, even if I've only known them for an hour.

I want to know why you want you picture taken, and what you think is most important. Do you want your pictures to help get you a job? To showcase your talents or skills? To capture a meaningful or significant moment in your life? Those are the questions that, if answered honestly, always lead to happy clients.

I love making people feel good about themselves. When people say "oh, I'm not photogenic", I take that as a challenge. I believe that if I can make you feel comfortable in front of the camera, you'll look just as gorgeous on film as you do in real life.

My dad has been a photographer my whole life, and I grew up watching him work in his studio. When I was in college, I finally felt inspired to pick up my own camera while traveling through Europe. With my dad's guidance and quite a bit of support from my friends in the early days, I was able to hone my skills as a portrait photographer, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Initially I just took pictures of whoever was willing to pose for me, but as I became more confident in my abilities, I decided to turn it into a job. Since starting Amy Livingston Photography, I've been able to make money doing what I'm passionate about, which is one of the greatest gifts of my life.

I very upbeat and conversational, so I always want my photoshoots to be as comfortable as possible. I'll talk you through the whole thing and try to get to know you a little bit, so you don't feel like you're standing stiffly in front of a stranger with a camera. I am also very confident in my skill, which I have been building steadily since I started this work six years ago. I believe I can make you look and feel your absolute best, and I can't wait to work with you!

Because we are unfortunately still deep in the Covid-19 pandemic, I am very motivated to take whatever health and safety precautions I can in order to keep both myself and my clients safe.

I am fully vaccinated, but I am more than happy to wear a mask during our session, whether we are shooting indoor or outdoors. Luckily, portrait photography does not require any physical contact between me and my subject(s), so I will keep a minimum of 6 feet between us at all times!
