What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Know your subject and pay attention to the light. The lenses I have a large, I don't want the customers to feel intimidated by them. I like to have conversations with them and make them feel comfortable before I even take the first shot. Lighting is important to me. I don't like the super bright washed-out photo style. You lose details in the photos, but its the details that make the photos stand out.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I typically ask very simple questions about them just to make them more comfortable. It's more like a casual conversation.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to take pictures that sort of capture a memory or brings out a certain emotion in people who see them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When I went to a city event, I had my DSLR camera and was casually taking pictures of people. I saw this man playing guitar and took a few pictures of him and showed him. He asked if I could email the pictures to him and asked if I had a business. I didn't at the time and he said, "Hmm...you might want to look into it. These are some great pictures. People would buy pictures like these."
Why should our clients choose you?
For one I've nailed the workflow down pretty well. I can get most sessions done within 36 hours if not 24 hours.
I keep on the lower end of the pay scale because sometimes people just can't afford hundreds of dollars for shoots.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I would have to meet in person for shoots. I they are products they can be shipped to me, and I can take the pictures and send them back (product photography)
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
If the customers have covid symptoms, I will try to reschedule. I will also wear a mask upon request.
