We hired Pam for basic training for our boxer. She is a true professional who actually cares about the dogs she trains. Â Receiving a write up after each training was a great help. Pam always had plenty of tips for each subject of the training. It was great to have a trainer who was willing to adapt if we changed the training topics. if you are looking for a trainer who will provide exactly what you want she is the person for you!!!!!!

JB’s indoor Dog Park is opening soon and I think everyone whose a dog owner should be super excited! It’s going to be an amazing place for dogs to have fun and socialize safely in a good space with climate control! Highly recommend considering to bring your dogs once it is opened in February! I certainly cannot wait!!
I work individually with each dog and their owner to bring real solutions to everyday pet problems. Through private lessons in your home, I target and troubleshoot specific issues. By helping families communicate more clearly in a way their dog can understand, the human/canine bond is strengthened and enriched.

At the Local Pack Dog Training, we highly value the importance of real world dog training to bring out the best in every dog, so that they may live in harmony with their owners. Dog training for us, here at the Local Pack, is not about teaching dogs a set of tricks. It's about teaching dogs that the stimulations of this busy world, and energies outside of them should not, do not, and will not effect how they feel inside.

I have a beautiful pure bred pitbull puppy but I had a really tough time training her. Walking her was such a hassle as well. I’ve tried a few places to see if they could help me in any way but the prices were just too much and the reviews they had weren’t so good. I felt like I wouldn’t be leaving her in good hands until I stumbled upon The Local Pack. My friend recommended that I speak to them and when I was able to sit down and go over what I needed assistance in, I was instantly explained throughly what the process was and the price was just right. It’s been a week and my baby has shown improvement. They walk your dogs for you and train them so well. Will was helping me and I have to say, he is Mr. Cesar Jr! Highly recommended this place.

This experience was amazing!! Not only was the staff friendly and knowledgeable but they went above and beyond when it came down to what's best for my little Lilian. Suggested the best meal plan for my breed and even made sure my pup liked the food by sending us home with a few samples!! These people care about your dog, not the bottom line! Help keep this small business afloat in this crazy time. I know I'm glad i stumbled into my local pet store and not some big box chains where the employees barley know where items are located! 4.9/5 cuz not much in life is perfect but this place came about as close as you can to it! Shot out to Ciara for her amazing advice and friendly attitude. Thank you again!!Sincerely, Nathan S
I train behavioral conditioning along with obedience. The reason that so many training programs fail is the emphasis on obedience over behavior. Obedience is what you tell a dog to do, behavior is what your dog chooses to do.

Working with Rich as we trained our 12 month old Belgian Malinois, Olive, was a dream. He was so generous with his time and clearly explained how to not only train our dog, but train us to be better owners. We feel more confident and have had a much better relationship with Olive since the training. She's been a happier more confident dog, too. Couldn't be happier with the job Rich did and would recommend him to anyone.

Kaitlyn is a committed and compassionate dog trainer. Her commitment stems from knowing how incredibly frustrating it can be to love dogs who don’t listen or have behavioral issues. My own dogs are nice dogs but they definitely do what they want, when they want to do it. After leaving k9 kaits , we have the tools and skills to start a new journey with mutual respect. We can go for walks, the cat can come from his basement den without being chased. Most of all I’d like to mention that Kaitlyn is also available all of the time for questions and concerns AFTER the training process. She doesn’t just give your dogs back and leave you on your own . Most importantly , kait has taught us that training a dog always makes them a happier dog, as they are allowed to go more places and do more activities. Thank you for the amazing hard work you’ve done!

At The PAWS Training Group, our mission is to teach pet parents leadership skills and dog training techniques that are sensitive to both human and canine needs. Dog training doesn’t really happen during scheduled training sessions. Learning actually happens when you integrate it into your everyday routines. Humans that learn to apply our techniques to their everyday lives, and situations, experience tremendous success.
BRINGING PEOPLE AND THEIR CANINE FAMILY MEMBERS TOGETHER THROUGH CONFIDENCE, PATIENCE, AND CONSISTENCY. Helping dogs and people with any behavior problem is what I do best. I tailor each training plan individually, as each dog and their human(s) are individuals. I incorporate many different training techniques, based on positive training methods and dog psychology, to modify and change behaviors that are needed in our busy human world to ensure your dog is well balanced and trusted.

I really would like to recommend Mike's ability as a coach. He knows how to coach both dogs and humans to bring about results. Just when you're ready to give up, he's there to support you and prove that it can be done. Thank you Mike! Your help has made the world of difference for us. We're still a work in progress, but we continue to work at it knowing that we can do it!

Sydni was prompt, personable and patient. In May I got a 5 year golden who had never been in a car and she was petrified. I had Sydni come to my house to work with "us". After 5 training sessions and my following Sydni's training instructions in between our sessions, my 5 year old was jumping in my car on her own. Kudos to Sydni. She is an excellent people trainer as well as an excellent dog trainer.

I adopted my dog from the streets of Guatemala, where he learned how to be aggressive and dominant towards men and some other dogs. I felt helpless for a while. After working with Dan for less than 6 months, I can honestly say that I feel like I own a new and improved pup. I finally feel confident to have friends over my house, and to bring my dog on hikes and out in public. Thanks to Dan, I feel like my dog can enjoy his life to the fullest. I highly recommend Dan to anyone who wants to improve not only their life, but also their dog's life!!!

I am a dog trainer in Worcester, MA offering both private lessons and board and train programs. I am very skilled at using remote collars to communicate with dogs and teaching their owners to properly use them as well. I have had great success training both basic obedience and household, leash, and social manners as well as rehabilitating more serious behaviors such as aggression, resource guarding, reactivity, fear, and anxiety.
I love giving dogs and their owners the freedom to live the life they deserve whether that be through simple avenues like walking politely on a leash or basic household manners, or by more complex things like teaching an aggressive dog to interact peacefully with other dogs or humans.
When I adopted my two dogs, they were complete behavioral messes. Many behaviors were tolerable, but my sweet Luna was so reactive that she turned scary and uncontrollable at the sight of cars or dogs. She could barely exist in our house with the blinds open, walks and outings to public places were completely out of the question. I hired a trainer who subscribes to a philosophy with which I now disagree and the training made things worse. If I wanted to keep my dog, I needed to learn to train her. Now I find extreme joy in helping other people who have debilitating issues with their dogs see the same success.
My training methods work, and I’m happy to explain the reasons behind why I use the tools and methods I do. I am a dog lover to my core and my motivation is keeping dogs in their homes and giving them the ability to experience as much of the world as possible. I would never use a method or tool on a client’s dog I wouldn’t (or haven’t already) use on my own dogs. And, for the sake of my clients’ wallets, I hope to never see them again once I have seen the program through!
Why should I get a Dog Trainer?
Making sure your pup is trained properly really matters. Without the necessary groundwork, you’re risking your dog’s wellness and security, as well as the safety of any other dogs it comes into contact with. It’s also important your dog is trained so that it can integrate properly with you and your family. Keeping it out of trouble will save you a lot of hassle (and potentially costly repairs too).
Making sure your dog listens to commands is very important. Not only will handling it be less stressful, but it can stop dangerous conflict with other animals. Furthermore, if your dog doesn’t want to listen to you, situations such as dealing with traffic can potentially become fatal. On the upside, having a well-trained pup enables you and your pet to socialise properly with other dogs and their owners.
Having a dog that is obedient means that life around the home becomes plain sailing. With good manners, your dog will be able to tell the difference between right and wrong behaviour, while being able to foster good relationships with other members of your family. These connections can help to build a fruitful relationship with your pet as part of the family. Time well spent together will allow you to both grow together, sharing experiences and creating the type of memories that make having a pet so worth it.
How about becoming an authority figure yourself? Although your trainer will help your dog get up to scratch, they will also teach you a great deal about the fundamentals of dog training. This includes not only how to handle your own dog, but principals that you can use to understand and better interact with other dogs too. Being able to help out less-informed dog owners can be a wonderful gift to have, and something that you can take further if you enjoy it.
Having a well-trained dog also means that taking your pet to the veterinarian will be a lot easier than it would be otherwise. Considering the nature and volume of work that they have to do, being a vet is tough, let alone dealing with an uncooperative pet in their surgery. In some cases, dogs can become violent when approached by a vet – definitely something they don’t need. By having your dog properly trained, you can avoid injuries – for both your dog and your vet – as well as unnecessary embarrassment upon visits.
How do I pick a Dog Trainer?
When hiring someone to train your dog, there is plenty to think about. The needs of both you and your pet have to be considered and so taking some time to sit down and work out what is important to you is a must. Down below are a few of the questions you might ask when it comes to finding the right dog trainer –
Should I go for group or private training? Each comes with pros and cons – those with a brand new dog can expect their pet to socialise and start to develop relationships with other dogs.
Does my dog need generalised training or would training in a specific area suit it better? One example of this is if your dog has an issue with barking, or separation anxiety. In these cases, someone that can specialise in tackling these issues would be optimal.
Do I need long-term training or do I need a quick fix? Goals such as conditioning your dog for agility or developing a routine will need more time with a trainer.
You should also take care to see what type of strategies your trainer uses. There are a wide variety of techniques that can be applied in order to change your dog’s behaviour – but not all of these involve kindness and care. It’s good to talk to prospective trainers about the ways in which they choose to teach your dog, including methods of both discipline and praise. Techniques such as positive reinforcement are very beneficial for dogs and are particularly powerful, while being enjoyable for them.
While your dog is your priority, how you communicate with your trainer is important too. Your trainer’s should be able to translate their understanding into constructive advice. A good trainer can tell you both what is working in terms of training your dog, and what isn’t. This includes passing on insights of what to do to correct certain issues, while conveying these ideas in a constructive, friendly way. In order to do this, a trainer needs to not only be able to express themselves clearly, but also be diplomatic and observant.
How much does a Dog Trainer cost?
There are various ways in which you can choose to train your dog. Some owners opt for private lessons, while others will put their dog through group daycare.
Group sessions are valuable not only because they are more budget friendly, but also because they are better as a long-term option. This is because your pet will have time to get to grips with a wider variety of commands. However one-on-one training provides your dog with lessons that are specially tailored to their needs, helping them learn in the best way for them.
There are also the various levels of obedience training to take into account. As well as classes specifically for puppies, there are basic educational classes, adult training, agility and advanced tutoring. Which of these you go for can affect pricing, as well as how quickly your dog learns (depending on its needs and comprehension).
Can I hire a Dog Trainer online?
Yes! You might be surprised to hear that dog training can be done remotely, through online video platforms like Zoom. They can take the form of group sessions or one-to-one classes to tackle certain individual behavioural issues. Many customers prefer online dog training for all sorts of reasons, like saving on travel time and costs.
