The right music. I notice, people don’t always want to dance. People may not have seen each other for years and merely want to catch-up. I think the right music will provide the environment where your guest will want to stay beyond the duration of your event and ask, “when can we do this again?”
People may not dance in the traditional way, by getting a partner and move to the dance floor. People may move in their seat, people may dance while standing in the food line, and some people may just want to sing to the song. All these are indications of people having a good time.
I am very professional and prompt. I can also be very laid back or energetic depending if the situation calls for it. I have done some events, like weddings, were the bride has the entire event planned from start to finish. However, I have done some weddings were the bride, groom and guest are tired and they want the DJ to just get them through the event so they can go to room and complete their nuptials and begin the honeymoon. Basically I adapt to the situation
The best thing about being a DJ to me is making memories with people while they are making memories. A good example is a 80th birthday party gig. You usually have 4-5 generations of people these are very memorable events, everyone does not get to celebrate an 80th birthday.
I started DJ as a way to share the enjoyment of music. Everyone can’t have a library of 10K songs or know from a few bars the name of a song. When you connect someone with a song you connect them with a memory. Being a DJ allows you to help people travel through time.
I am a very experienced DJ. I have played gigs with 20 people up to 1,000 people. I have played bars, clubs, private events, in all types of venues. I am comfortable playing all genres of music any era. I also have the ability to take request during the gig with internet connectivity.
