Jason has been a club DJ for many years, and transitioned into the mobile DJ scene with the help of fellow high school teacher, Cameron. Cameron feels that every event needs to be as perfect as possible, so not just any DJ will do! You can be sure that your DJ (whether it is Cameron or Jason) will not only have experience with song selection and mixing dance music, but also with event organization and MCing a party! 5280 Mobile DJ also has a long list of venues and wedding vendors that we have a history of working with. In fact, most of the wedding coordinators that Cameron has worked with over the years have requested him to be the DJ at their own weddings! Playing great music without a bunch of corny DJ antics. We read the audience while keeping our clients' wishes as our top priority. We do weddings where the bride and groom give us list of over 100 requests, and we do some where they simply tell us their general likes and dislikes. Without much direction, we will read the crowd, take requests, and stay away from most of the music that many would consider to be tacky.
Unlike many other DJs that I have seen, you will find us involved with the organization of each event. We are spending time during cocktail hour or dinner communicating with other vendors and coordinators to make things run smoothly. We also have an excellent reputation for coordinating with photographers and videographers to ensure their needs are met too.

I started DJing in college in the late 90's, with nothing more than a home stereo system. After college, I worked part time for a larger DJ company in Colorado, and quickly became one of their best DJs. It only took a few years for me to want to do it for myself. This enabled me to meet with my clients ahead of time if they desired, and it also brings me that much more success.
In 2009, I finished my Master's of Education degree and I started teaching high school too. Both of these parts of my life keep me busy, but I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Jason was also a high school teacher, but he has recently stopped teaching to focus on music and other things in his life.
I believe that we are some of the best DJs around, especially when it comes to weddings. We can do all kinds of events, but we have enough people from the wedding industry that support us that I know we are better than most other DJ companies. That doesn't mean we are the best at everything. I know there are DJs that do more fancy scratching and tricks to show off than we do. However, when it comes to planning out good music, making people happy, and helping organize a special event perfectly, we are simply wonderful. :)
