READ BEFORE INQUIRING -we are out of Montana-if you are on a BUDGET do not inquire if out of state. You will have to pay travel costs. If you cannot afford to pay for us to travel to your state, do not ask us to contact you. It costs us money to get your contact info. Go to services for our direct contact info!!! or thedirtyshameband at gmail dot com Thank you for considering Brandon Hale and The Dirty Shame for your upcoming event. PLEASE READ THE NEXT 2 PARAGRAPHS BEFORE CONTACTING ME. We deeply value your interest and the opportunity to bring our passion for music to your special occasion. However, to streamline the process, we wish to offer some guidance before proceeding. Should you find yourself working within a constrained budget, we advise exploring local options in the town the event will be held in, to mitigate travel expenses, given our base is in Bozeman, Montana and all band members live in Bozeman, MT. We will travel to almost any destination, but It's important to note that all associated travel costs, including transportation (Airfare + rental van if event location is out of driving range, over 5-6 hrs of drive time), accommodations (3-4 hotel rooms), sustenance (daily food budget), and equipment rentals from a music rental company closest to your event location (Front of house sound, PA, lights, drums, amps), are meticulously factored into our customized quoted fee for each inquiry. PLEASE KEEP READING BEFORE CONTACTING US We usually perform as a 4 piece band (Lead vocalist/rhythm guitar, bassist, drummer, and lead guitar/backup vocals). The 4 piece is where we really shine and is my recommendation for the best show as the founder and frontman (Brandon Hale). If you have an ample budget it is possible to add a 5th member (Pedal Steel Guitar player) that gives the icing on the cake a real country sound and vibe. We also do duos (lead vocals/rhythm guitar and either bass or drums), and trios (lead vocals/rhythm guitar, bass, and drums) which can bring down our quoted fee. Our fee for a weekend day (Fri or Sat) May through Oct, Full 4 piece band in Bozeman (no travel) is a minimum of $3500. Nov -April prices decrease as well as weekday shows Sunday through Thursday year-round are less expensive as well. Trio's and Duo's bring the price down as well in Bozeman or to a destination event. Please take that fee example into consideration, and if you are say in Florida you need to add on all travel, lodging, and gear rental. Also, I am always willing to talk over details and try to make your event work, so there is some wiggle room. However, every inquiry I get costs us a pretty hefty fee to see you phone number and email, they block all that stuff out. So if I see in your details budget and its 6 states away, I will most likely not spend money to contact you back. However you can always contact me at my band email, and it tells you how in the next paragraph. With over 17 years of experience and a portfolio boasting more than 1500 paid shows, our approach is finely tuned to ensure both excellence and affordability. Before delving into our detailed biography and music samples—primarily original compositions due to legal considerations regarding cover songs—please direct your inquiries through the provided email address under "SERVICES" The headline says: "For the quickest way to contact band" there you will see our email address as well as a link to our website, this is best for a prompt response. What do you love most about your job?

The thing I love most about my job is undoubtedly the people. Specifically, it's the connections forged and the shared passion for music that truly make me happy. While I hesitate to label what I do as a 'job' due to the immense joy it brings, there are undeniably challenging aspects. There are moments of strenuous labor—loading and unloading heavy gear, sometimes at 2 am, sometimes in minus-30-degree weather, or driving 7 hours and immediately loading in, sometimes in minus... well, you get the point. Yet, amidst occasional challenges, meeting great people and getting to perform music for them as a 'job' really is a dream come true.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Raised in Seattle by a single mother, with deep roots in Montana, my childhood was a tapestry of city life and the wild, untamed beauty of the Yaak Valley. The Yaak, a remote and rugged region of Montana, was a haven of mountain men, cowboys, and outlaws - a perfect backdrop for a budding artist and musician like myself. My passion for creation began early, with a paintbrush at age 8 and a guitar at 14.

Despite my early stage fright, my love for music, particularly singing and strumming the guitar, grew alongside my artistic talents. After studying painting and drawing at a community college, I ventured to Montana State University in 2000 to pursue film studies. It was in Bozeman, at a dive bar named the 'Haufbrau', where my musical path truly began to unfold. An open mic night there gave me the courage to perform publicly, setting the stage for my future.

In 2006, I formed a band, initially named 'The Dirty Shame', after tirelessly calling every bar in Montana for gigs. By 2008, our hard work paid off, and we were performing 150 shows a year. However, in 2015, the band split. It wasn't until 2019 that I returned to the music scene, playing solo, duo, and trio gigs. In 2021, I revived the band with a new name, 'Brandon Hale and the Dirty Shame', reflecting my role as the frontman, founder, singer, and songwriter. This reformation brought a flexible and dynamic structure to the band, utilizing a pool of local professional musicians to form 'The Dirty Shame' as needed, allowing for performances ranging from intimate solos to full band shows.

My musical journey, from a young boy inspired by the sounds of the Yaak to leading 'Brandon Hale and the Dirty Shame', is a story of passion, resilience, and the enduring power of music. It's a tale of a musician's love for the raw and authentic spirit of outlaw country, and a testament to the timeless appeal of storytelling through song."
