I've always worked in start-ups or in helping struggling small operations get to the next level. When my wife, one of Arcollab's principal architects, decided to merge her firm, Bork Design, with two other architects to form Arcollab, I jumped at the opportunity to help them with all of the office's business administration and new project development as well as to do sustainability consulting work through the company.
The team of three principal architects bring world-class design skill and experience to a more accessible level. After working on concert halls, baseball stadiums and university buildings, they're now focusing their attention on designing outstanding homes for residential clients as well as on adaptive reuse of existing buildings, particularly those in historic old downtowns. Despite their many professional accomplishments, they're very down-to-earth people who focus on the relationships with our clients, listening to what the client wants and then delivering outstanding design. Plus, we know the codes, the historic preservation guidelines, the permitting processes, etc. to make sure projects are approved and built in a timely manner.
