Hi there! My name is Chris. I teach music to people just like you and I help people achieve their musical dreams! I teach how to play piano by ear by teaching the system that professional musicians use to learn songs quickly. You can be one of those people who hears a song on the radio once and then can sit down and play it instantly. It is not a magic trick. It is a system that you can learn.

Chris is amazing at what he does and is passionate about helping you become the musician you want to be! He listens and is always encouraging. Choosing to start playing later in life (age 38), he was patient with me and kept pushing me to see that you can start playing at any age. It takes work to learn something new and is scary; however, Chris is a great teacher and supportive throughout the journey!

My training as a voice teacher didn't end with my doctorate. Over the course of my 25 years of teaching, I have continued to pursue rigorous formal study in healthy vocal technique, contemporary singing styles, and fine-tuning vocal exercises for the individual student. As a result, my students have enjoyed success as professional opera singers, musical theater performers, and pop artists, as well as leading roles in school and community productions.

I have been singing and teaching for over 40 years. 30 years I was employed by New York City Opera - so I am experienced in opera, especially, as well as classical and Broadway (which I did when I was first in NYC). I teach singers a very solid technique - which you will need, no matter what style music you sing in. The singing technique is the same - the style is what is different.

I help students create the physical conditions for free singing. So often students are told to "release the jaw" or "sing from the diaphragm" and while these instructions are correct, actually doing them is usually more complicated because tension patterns are almost always complex. Using gentle vocal exercises we'll work through the negative tension patterns so that the jaw (among other things) can be freed and the diaphragm can naturally engage.

Full-Voice is one of NYC’s leading Voice Studios founded by internationally-recognized Voice Teacher, Kurt Robinson and home to some of the best vocalists, musicians, and collaborators in the world. https://www.full-voice.com At Full-Voice We Seek To: - Study and explore the gamut of vocal techniques and ideas - Provide a “tailor-made” approach to each singing artist, their individual needs and goals
I am a professional singer and voice teacher who has sung all over including at the metropolitan opera and worked with singers of all ages and ability.
I've always had a deep passion for singing, and I consider myself fortunate to have regular opportunities to perform. However, what brings me equal joy is the gratification I find in assisting others on their singing journey. There's an extraordinary sense of fulfillment in collaborating with someone, witnessing their triumph over fears, uncovering hidden talents, and witnessing their growth into exceptional musicians.
My lifelong aspiration has been to become my own boss, and I deliberately pursued a career in music due to its inherent entrepreneurial nature, not in spite of it. The traditional office environment would never align with my personality, as I thrive when I can directly engage with people and witness tangible results. It is through this hands-on interaction and the ability to make a genuine impact that I find motivation and happiness in my work.
I am committed to meeting your needs as the customer to the best of my abilities. Whether you choose to hire me to sing for your wedding or teach you to sing so that you can land that solo in choir or the lead in the school musical, I will engage in a comprehensive discussion with you to understand your goals and aspirations. By understanding your vision, I will strive to bring it to life through dedicated effort and collaboration.
Certainly! I actually prefer to conduct voice lessons remotely. I've found that students are more likely to maintain a consistent attendance when they don't have to commute to their lessons. However, I fully acknowledge the value of in-person instruction. Therefore, I suggest that students have their initial lesson with me in person, and then we can discuss the most convenient arrangement moving forward. I understand that distance may make in-person lessons impractical at times, so I am more than happy to conduct all lessons virtually if necessary.
Regarding singing performances, I am flexible and adaptable to suit the needs of the project. Whether it's a live, in-person performance or a virtual one. I am equipped with microphones, software, and lighting to create excellent video content. Additionally, I can record audio from my home studio if required. However, I must mention that my true passion lies in performing live for an audience, so whenever the opportunity arises, that is my preference.
I am more than willing to wear a mask while performing, and I'm even open to singing while wearing one if it is necessary for the performance. The safety and well-being of both myself and my students are paramount. If a student or I happen to be sick, I highly recommend opting for a virtual lesson instead of meeting in person to prioritize everyone's health and prevent the spread of any illness.
