What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

Popular FSP FAQs:

I hear you and your associates prefer to have a client "date" before each session - what is that about?

Like everything on the Internet, those rumors are absolutely true (no alternative facts here). Each session is wonderfully different and should capture exactly what YOU are looking for. Over coffee (ok, sometimes cocktails too) we connect, get creative and design a session that's memorable, comfortable and most of all FUN.

Do you take any client?

Actually, no. Since our job is to capture intimate moments and tell your story, it's absolutely critical that we mutually connect. While we don't take every client, we do help to make sure you find a photographer that best meets your needs.

What do you love most about your job?

For us, photography and events go together like bread and butter. Ben and Jerry. Margaritas and dance floors.

You get where we're going.

Often serving as event planners, family photographers and wedding consultants to our close friends, we loved building relationships, diving into details and helping make visions come to life. We were happy hobbyists. Over time, our projects and client base grew, and we incorporated as a photography and events company in 2011. Today, we have offices in Denver and New York City and have built a reputation on designing events and photography sessions that are memorable, unique and most of all FUN. What inspired you to start your own business?

creative junkie. obsessive traveler. visual storyteller.

Hi there. I'm Sarah. I started Fourth Street Photography and Events after moving to New York City in 2011. Born in Kansas and raised in Arizona, I'm a city girl at heart. My darkroom and event planning days actually started back in high school, as did my appreciation for passport stamps, hair crimpers and Bob Barker. What a formative era it was.

For me, event planning and photography isn't about completing a checklist or clicking a shutter. It's about connecting with people, capturing precious moments and helping tell their story.

fun facts:

The first wedding I ever shot was by accident and, honestly, the photos we're THE BEST. Granted, they were the only wedding reception photos due to the hired photographer's accidental double-booking, but, you know. THEY WERE PURE GOLD. (See above: sarcasm lover and bad joke teller.)
I have three insanely talented sisters who often work with me. We all grew up on a small animal farm and absolutely love big dogs and other people's children.
I'm a writer by trade, yogi by choice and live music lover by genetic default.

Why should our clients choose you?

A quick Google search will tell you there are over 1.5 million talented photographers and professional event planners worldwide. So why us?

Sure, we've got the skills, equipment and expertise to deliver stunning images and events to all of our clients, BUT so does every other professional we know. We're different, (and we're certainly not for everyone) but we may be right for you. Here's why:

We don't do boring, cliche or overly traditional.

We're not shy and we have personality (a lot of it).

We understand people and have a knack for telling mediocre jokes, coordinating large groups, and calming nerves.

We embrace details, love vision-boarding and are exceptionally creative budget developers.

We understand complicated family dynamics, time constraints, and strangely love hyper-involved clients with personal requests.

We think of our clients as friends and, like us, our friends hate unflattering angles, bad lighting and impersonal experiences.

To us, this isn't just a job. We live to tell great stories and create one-of-a-kind events.
