Goodness! How do I start to describe the wonderful experience I had getting a massage by Lashanna...that woman has magical fingers and a magical voice. I just had my first massage with her to start treating my sciatica and after I left the pain was completely gone! Her gentle voice and beautiful atmosphere were so calming and comfortable. I would highly recommend Lashanna if you want a gifted human you can trust to make you feel stress free! Thank you Lashanna!

I was initially attracted to Rob because of the picture of this smiling man with massive arms. And, I was not disappointed. Rob has a unique style that is a combination of skill, strength and also a little bit of tenderness. I walked out of his studio feeling like I was a loaf of bread that had been happily kneaded for an hour. He also incorporated some stretches into the massage that were quite effective. Lastly, his table is like a warm cocoon, it is heated and has an extra layer of softness, that in combination with his charming southern accent made the experience quite nurturing.

If you are one who waxes, then I would try this place. The owner is professional, personable, thorough and most importantly fast. I think speed is key to making what is let's face it, not exactly the most pleasant of experiences, bearable and a little less painful. Plus you get a discount for booking your next appointment in advance which is also a plus for me.

Decided to try a Groupon here last week and am glad I did. Really enjoyed my time. Alexis was extremely knowledgeable and able to pinpoint the problem areas in my back which she then focused on for the majority of the time. I left feeling relaxed and pain-free. Liked it so much I ended up purchasing 3 additional sessions!

I've been seeing Myesha for over a year. She gives a great deep tissue massage. I work out several times a week and need weekly massages. I found her through groupon and I prefer to support local businesses so it was great that she was so close to me (fremont). I was not expecting a huge spa or space. I was looking for an excellent massage and someone who knew how to give deep tissue massage and this is what I found. I have no problem with the space and was very comfortable with Myesha. She is always accommodating with music and my needs. My husband recently started to see her also. He has major back issues. He really looks forward to his weekly massages!! Her personality is wonderful and you can tell that she is very passionate about giving great service to her clients. I look forward to seeing her weekly.
Clients are pampered with a massage designed to reduced stress and muscle tension, remedy pain, and improve blood circulation.

Jennifer has been my go to massage therapist for around six years. She is consistently warm, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She has a canny ability to zero in on trouble spots and uses fabulous communication to ensure her pressure and style is providing you the best therapeutic experience in the moment. She also knows her stuff and will talk with you about when getting certain treatments either is or isn't a good idea. Her hands are strong and capable as is her personality, which is comforting when you have her working on an injury that you might be scared to let anyone touch due to the pain. I've had her work with me for relaxation, injuries, wellness maintenance, and pregnancy. She had done great in each circumstance. She even had this amazing supportive and comfortable specialty pregnancy massage pillow she uses. It has hollows for your chest and tummy areas so that you can safely and comfortably lay face down for your massage even while pregnant. It is luxurious! Jen is nothing short of phenomenal to work with and I would suggest her to anyone.

Nara is without a doubt the most talented masseuse I have ever experienced. She's the only person I'd ever go back to. Her technique is amazing, and she's always able to apply enough pressure to release my sore/tight muscles... even after I've pulled or strained something that I expect will take weeks to recover.(Of course, when you ask for that much pressure the experience itself is pretty intense, but totally worth it to feel better.)Her location is definitely a bit hard to find, and she only accepts cash or check (which is a minor inconvenience), but her prices are totally reasonable, and again her talents and the results are out of this world. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Carlie is such a wonderful and knowledgable massage therapist. She has helped me with Crossfit injuries, back/neck pain from an old car accident, and general body maintenance. The BodyReflects space is beautiful, bright, and calming. I've only made it to one yoga class at BR, but that one was great too!

What types of massages does a Massage Therapist offer?
Swedish massage - This is a gentle type of full body massage that is ideal for people who have a lot of tension, are sensitive touch and are new to massage. It can help to release muscle knots and is a good choice if you want to fully relax during your treatment.
Hot stone massage - Hot stone massage is best for people who have muscle pain and tension or who simply want to relax. The massage therapist uses heated stones in lieu of or in addition to their hands.
Aromatherapy massage - Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.
Deep tissue massage - Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It is a good option if you have chronic muscle problems such as soreness, injury or imbalance.
Sports massage - Sports massage is a good option if you have a repetitive use injury to a muscle such as what you may get from playing a sport. It’s also a good option if you are prone to injuries because it can be used to help prevent sports injuries.
Trigger point massage - Trigger point massages are best suited for people who have injuries, chronic pain, a specific issue or condition. Sometimes areas of tightness in the muscle tissues, known as trigger points can cause pain in other parts of the body. By focusing on relieving trigger points, this type of massage can reduce pain.
Reflexology - Reflexology is a great option for people who are looking to relax or restore their natural energy levels. It is also a good option if you aren’t comfortable being touched on your entire body. Reflexology uses gentle to firm pressure on different pressure points of feet, hands or ears.
Shiatsu massage - Shiatsu massage is best for people who want to feel relaxed and relieve stress, pain and tension.
Thai massage - Thai massage is best for people who want a more active form of massage and want to reduce and relieve pain and stress.
Prenatal massage - Prenatal massage can be a safe way for women to get a massage during pregnancy. It can help reduce pregnancy body aches, reduce stress and ease muscle tension.
Couple’s massage - A couple’s massage is a massage that you do with your partner, friend or family member in the same room. Other treatments such as pedicures, facials, and body scrubs are sometimes offered as part of a package.
Chair massage - A chair massage is best for people who want a quick massage that focuses on your neck, shoulders and back. A chair massage can also be a way to introduce you to massage if you have never had one before. This type of massage uses light to medium pressure.
What should I consider before deciding on my massage therapist?
There are a number of factors that are worth considering before choosing your masseuse.
Choice – It is important to consider why you want a massage. Do you want to find relief from chronic pain or are you just looking for a way to relax? Deciding why you want to get a massage will help you narrow down your options and find the right massage therapist.
Comfort- Getting a massage is a great way to relax both physically and mentally. It is easier to take advantage of this benefit when you feel totally comfortable. That is why you should find a massage therapist that makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
Recommendations – You are likely to have at least one friend or family member that has visited a professional massage therapist and read their reviews on Bark.
You can be confident that any of the Bark local massage therapists listed will give you a relaxing and therapeutic massage.
How do I check the Massage Therapists’ credentials?
You could look for massage therapists with a Level 3 Diploma in Massage or Complementary Therapies. The Council for Soft Tissue Therapies (GCMT) is the governing body for massage therapy and recommends that all massage therapists have taken a full or part-time course.
Before you choose a massage therapist, you could read testimonials and read details of their services on their website.
You could also look at their profile page on Bark and read massage reviews from past customers too. This might also help you get some ideas for the type of massage you want to book.
