Dj buck had to drive from wisconsin to mendota IL which i believe is about a 2-2 half hr drive to dj our wedding, he was on time and set up by the time our party got to the reception. He announced our party into the venue perfectly. throughout the night he surprised us with great music and interaction with the crowd, even did musical chairs for the kids. WE LOVED THAT! When we got to the DJ search part of wedding planning, I had no idea where to look. I just knew that I didn't want anyone cheesy and I didn't have a huge budget. We found good reviews for Music Box so we inquired and found that they provided quality service for a reasonable price. We called couples that they had previously served and they gave us the scoop on what to expect, all good things.
A week before our wedding, we sat down to discuss music with the DJ who would be at our wedding. Up until that point I was very nervous because I really wanted the reception to be a laid back, fun party and my husband and I are kind of picky about our music. When the DJ called we were pleasantly surprised to talk through the entire reception with him. We went through every detail he could think of...we didn't want anything cheesy and preferred to have him make a couple of announcements but otherwise stay off the mic, we wanted to do our own announcement and prayer before the dinner, we didn't want a Grand March, etc. We had a special first dance request that he didn't have in his stock (an obscure song no one's ever heard of), when we hung up he immediately tracked down the song and confirmed that he had it all set up. We discussed music requests, he was so thorough and totally supportive of our requests to keep things clean. He asked us about specific popular songs and we gave a yes or no. When we got off the phone I felt a huge relief, I knew they would have things together.
So then we get to the actual wedding, January 2, 2015. I wasn't sure how it would go being a Friday, winter wedding. Wasn't sure if people would want to stay out late and dance so I honestly didn't expect the party to go past 11 even though we had everything booked until midnight. Well turns out the DJ was amazing and kept the party going until closing time. They were wonderful, everyone had a blast.
