10/10 recommend working with Castaway Cuisine for any food truck/cart related things!! I work for a manufacturing company and wanted to set up something nice for the plant employees in honor of Women's History Month. I figured what better way than to support a woman-owned business? I googled just that and came across Castaway. I filled out their interest form and immediately heard back from Barb, the owner. The company is run by her and her husband Mike, who is the chef. The other food truck companies I contacted never even got back to me. I did not have much experience setting things like this up so it was a bit bumpy on my end. Barb and Mike were incredibly patient and accommodating to my questions, date changes, etc. They came out and served food to our employees and were extremely self sufficient. I gave them my number to call/text if they needed anything and they had it all covered! They even collected the little vouchers I made for our employees to prevent double-dipping, which they did not have to do. After each event, they let me know how it went and about how many people showed up. Some of these events took place during lunch time and others in the evening so all of our shifts could attend. I was able to try the food myself and loved it! My favorite was probably the strawberry cream filled churros, but the tacos, salsa, guac, corn-- everything was so good. All of our beef comes from our farm and other local farms and is ethically raised on pasture with no added hormones or unnecessary antibiotics. Our fries are cooked in 100% tallow. All of our sauces are house-made. Our menu features smash burgers, house-smoked brisket, beef specialties, grilled cheese, tallow fries, and, by request, a vegetarian black bean burger.
