What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Telling a story with the image. Every image and video I create is intended to evoke emotion. Capturing the moment while successfully telling the story, and evoking emotion, every time, is what separates a professional videographer/photographer from a person with a camera.
While I do own some of the best cameras and lenses in the world, you don't need an expensive camera to execute my photography 'secret.' You need talent, intelligence, confidence, creativity, and experience to successfully tell the story and evoke emotion every single time. The cameras and lenses are simply the physical extension of the creative mind.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When you send an inquiry, I will have a conversation with you as soon as possible. These are the questions I typically ask, depending on what kind of shoot is being requested.
Do you have a particular vision in mind, or do you want us to bring our creativity to a general idea?
Where is the shoot and how long do you need coverage?
Do you want drone work, gimbals, or anything that requires special equipment?
What do you love most about your job?
Being a photographer/filmmaker gives you access to see incredible things, meet incredible people, and go to incredible places. But on top of that, I thoroughly enjoy the nuts and bolts of running a video production company. I love the journey of mastering the equipment I own, and acquiring new pieces of gear to unlock new creative options.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've had a camera in my hand since I was 5 years old. The business was simply the legal registration of my passion.

I am the single most passionate image creator you will ever meet. I didn't go to college, but I have a college tuition worth of camera bodies and lenses.

Yes, under certain circumstances. If we are creating content for you remotely, ie, product photography/videography, or if you need an editing contractor for a specific job.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Nobody from Taureau attends shoots while exhibiting symptoms or being within the 2 week quarantine window of a Covid-19 diagnosis. Any Taureau owner, partner, employee or associate follows this rule.
