Rafael (Ralph) Nevarez has been my personal trainer since 2012. With gratitude, I’ve experienced and am still experiencing the full body package!
Pilates, kick-boxing, self-defense, strengthening exercises – all have contributed to my improvement. Rafael continues to assess, develop and tailor an individualized program which best meets my needs and wants. He’s also a great listener!
When I started, I knew very little about health fitness and body structure. Biceps, triceps, butt blasters, abs, cardio, alignment and posture were not part of my vocabulary. Now, 2-3 times/week – the exercise regimen has enhanced both my physical and mental state. Being over 50 and feeling comfort in my body - I enjoy the clothes I want to wear and the balance and exercise routine makes me feel physically and socially independent. I appreciate Rafael’s focus, dedication and hard work at helping me achieve my health goals. This program works for me!

Following the five components of fitness. Proper food intake, resistance training, cardiovascular conditioning, behavior modification and professional assistance.

I believe that fitness is individual and no one approach works for everyone.
At Tactical Fitness Academy, we offer a variety of services from injury rehabilitation to Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts training. Staying injury free and switching up the exercises to ensure that we are not overtraining ; systematically, progressively adding stress is key.

What do you love most about your job?
I love tailoring exercise around the specific needs of every client. (No one body is the same)
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked at a night club as a Door Staff Manager and kept myself in tip top shape. Wanting to be the best ,and dealing with injuries from "trainer's" pushing me to my limits I decided to educate myself in injury prevention and rehabilitative exercises.

We at Tactical Fitness Academy view exercise as a prescription vs just overwhelming ones nervous system. We have 18 years experience in movement instruction. We take every clients personalities, limitations, and strengths into account when we customize our programs and adjust as we see fit.
