If you’re needing guidance on a weight loss journey, Coach Brian is definitely your guy. I am a few months shy of 60 years old. I have dieted my whole life and the scales went up and down, but nothing really worked. First off I’m going to tell you,, everything you have been taught about nutrition you can probably throw away. I have been told so many things during the years and of course they didn’t work and that none of them was in the approach that Coach Brian took. I have lost 20+ pounds in the 12 weeks! There are two worlds that I spend most of my time working in as a professional writer: video games, and off-road desert racing.
In off-road, without a solid, reliable co-driver, you stand a good chance of losing your way. In gaming, attention to detail from your quality assurance team is crucial, so that one mistake doesn’t break countless other parts of an otherwise good program.
As my coach and nutrition specialist, Brian has served as both my co-driver and QA specialist, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. Making the decision to put my health first was important, but nonetheless overwhelming as I realized that I had no sense of direction. Brian guided me through that overwhelm with tools that made things easy to understand, such as sample meals to help me start the journey, tips on what to look for on nutrition labels to add the right fuel to my new diet, and regular check-ins over text that kept me pointed towards the checkered flag.
As the journey continued, I was surprised to learn just how much easier it was to stay on course than I thought. Getting the most out of Brian’s program requires you to apply yourself to learn early and be consistent as you continue, but the week-over-week low scores (on the scale) make that effort well worth it—and as time goes on, it feels like you’re playing on easy mode.
After our 12-week program, I’ve lost more than 15 pounds, my lowest weight since college. I’m even still making progress after that, and I’ll be continuing to work with Brian in the future.

I started working with Brian after struggling with unhealthy eating habits that I had developed over the years. I always felt that it was tough to control my appetite, and when I did feel hungry I tended to gravitate to the most convenient things I could find (which was generally junk food).
Brian worked with me to develop strategies to overcome these problems such as
- Understanding how I can consume fewer calories while still being more satiated than if I junk food which is high calorie and never makes me feel full
- Monitoring what I consume on a meal by meal basis to help me understand how my body responds to eating X amount of calories, or different macro nutrient ratios
- Preparing meals in advanced (or having very quick and easy recipes) so that I always have a quick and healthy option at hand
- Understanding portion control
and a lot more.
Brian always took care not to give me too much information at once, and slowly spread the information out over the course of weeks and months so that I never felt overwhelmed. By the end of my time with Brian, it didn't feel like I was on a "diet" or doing anything special or difficult because of how gradually we implemented our strategies, but when I compare my habits now versus before I worked with Brian they are very improved.
Brian was also communicative and responsive to questions/feedback. It was also always fun to talk with him during our calls, where he was very encouraging and supportive, and always tried to calibrate our plan to align with my health/fitness goals.
Before working with Brian in May, I weighed 185 at 5'11". By working with him, I got down to a very lean 170 lbs, and then slowly worked my way back up to a lean 178-180 lbs by incorporate weight lifting (before working with Brian I was only running and rock climbing). My indoor bouldering grades also greatly improved (my best grade in back in May was a V4, and now I can climb most V5's and some V6's). Overall, after working with Brian, I became much leaner and gained a significant amount of muscle which helped me look and feel better, and also boulder much better.
All in all, I am very happy with my time working with Brian, and highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their health in a sustainable and effective way.

Working with Brian was great. We found a great nutrition plan that worked for my individual needs. I've consistently lost weight weekly to get down to my target weight while maintaining enough energy for the long hikes I do in preparation for my A. T. through hike next year. Hey Marc! Knowing you are a really tall guy at 6'8, I knew you needed to be able to eat lots of food without it slowing you down! you decided to run a half marathon off a challenge from your friend. You didn’t want to lose any muscle mass that you’ve been working hard on the last couple of years building. We were able to set up a very easy nutrition approach where we taught you how much calories you’re eating, what proper portion sizes were, how to combine food together that you enjoy to have desirable meals. Simply Love when the client gets the results they have worked so hard for. It’s really exciting to see the transformation in their body and lives!

It's important to find someone you like and trust. Having trust with your coach makes the process much easier because you can simply listen to what they tell you to do and get you where you want to go.
I would also say that nobody can get in shape to work with a trainer/coach. It's that coaches job to get the customer in shape. If they are worth their weight, they will produce good results while making the training environment fun and exciting.
