I grew up around residential construction. My dad was a plastering contractor and he taught me his trade. I learned much by working with him. Later, I started my own business as a finish carpenter, and then I opened a custom cabinetry shop, where I designed, built, and installed custom-made kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops. I extensively remodeled three of our homes, and in the process, I have done all the tasks involved in building a home; concrete, framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, sheetrock, brick and stone masonry, etc. I worked for 30 years as a structural designer, working with heavy steel and concrete construction. I decided to use my lifetime of experience to help people design the home of their dreams.
I have a passion for building science and passive solar design. I strive to incorporate those concepts into my designs to create beautiful, comfortable, healthy and energy-efficient homes.
