What I love most about photography is the chance to continually work with new people and new challenges. That could mean documenting a group of cancer survivors halfway around the world, showing the world a new product, or sharing who you are to your clients.

I had never been before. I went to First Friday tonight and I will be going back. Imagine a farmers market but it's all in a 5 story building. It was super fun and the crowd was great. More...

First Friday is such a fun event here. Most of the 181 artist studios are open to the public and you can chat with the artists about their process or watch them create. There are so many different types of art- photography, animation, water color, acrylic, sculpture, textiles, etc. There is truly something for everyone. More...

Beautiful place. We read about this piece and how it was created in honor of a lost friend. My wife teared up. Amazing.

This is a several floor artist collaborative building with scores of individual artist studios. It's a great stop to take a visitor during a tour of Des Moines, or an activity for yourself on an afternoon. Sometimes there events here. I went to an open house once where many of the artists opened their shops so you could meat the artists and see their studio - and there was music, food...etc in the common areas. But I've also gone during the day when none of the shops are open, but you can still tour all the floors and see much of the art that is exhibited in the hallways. More...

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret is truly caring about helping your clients grow their business by helping share their unique story with beautiful and creative imagery.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is your goal for your business? How do you see photography helping?
What do you love most about your job?
I really love meeting new people in new fields. It is great to learn about other peoples passions and finding a way to help them be more successful.
