C Notes Music is a locally-owned and operated music lesson studio about 10 minutes from Little Creek Casino down Lynch Road, near Shelton, WA, offering weekly private music lessons for preschoolers through retirees and beginners through advanced students. I offer lessons in Piano, Saxophone, Clarinet, Low Brass, Trombone, Euphonium, Baritone Horn, Tuba, and Music Theory. Learn to understand music from the inside out, learn how to get the most out of your practice, and build proper technique in a caring and supportive environment. Lessons are offered primarily in person.
Enjoyment of music is as important as proper technique and understanding. My music degree didn't teach me that, but teaching music in the schools sure helped! :) It's so much fun to see students grow as musicians and really enjoy music from the inside out!
I love music! I quit my day job to teach more lessons so that I could pass that love along to my students.
I teach weekly lessons to young and old and everywhere in between, tailoring each lesson to the needs and abilities of the individual. I pride myself in offering a caring and supportive environment and helping my students understand what makes practice perfect, always striving to balance high-quality education with fun!
Music has fascinated me as far back as I can remember. I have been involved in music since grade school. I enjoy a wide variety of music styles and have studied many instruments as well as music theory. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Walla Walla University and a Washington State Music Teaching Certificate. I taught preschool to high school music in various capacities for 7 years and have soloed throughout the south Puget Sound area, but my real passion is teaching music to students one-on-one!
I generally provide lessons in person, especially when students are just starting. However, I can teach remotely when needed.
I adapt to the needs of the family. If there is a high risk or if I am requested to, I wear a mask. I also have students wash or sanitize their hands. I also have a transparent barrier I can put up between myself and students, if needed.
