I have taught piano lessons with a full roster of students since 2009. I teach students of all ages and ability levels. My students participate in piano recitals and are involved with other musical projects online and in person. I have had extensive experience of online lessons and have been teaching students on a national level since 2015. I started taking lessons at the age of 7 with Dr. Lily Diehl. I was very active in piano competitions in Southern California. I participated and placed in competitions such as the Inland Empire Piano Festival and the Bach Festival. I was active in the National Piano Guild and the Certificate of Merit. I have had the pleasure to study under many brilliant piano teachers with different teaching approaches and music interpretation styles. I have also studied under David Griswold, Sylvia Ho, Judith Johansen and Jasminka Knecht. I am a certified piano instructor through the Music Teacher's Association of California (MTAC). I am also a member of the National Piano Guild and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Through these organizations, students and myself have the ability to participate in workshops, master classes, piano festivals and competitions online and in person. I received an Associate's degree from Riverside City College. There, I performed often with different instrumental ensembles and other pianists. I then went to California State University, Fullerton and received a Bachelor's Degree. I am now working towards a Master's Degree in Piano Pedagogy from California State University, Fullerton. Teaching others piano has been my greatest gift. Every student has different musical goals and learning styles. Because of this I tailor my approach specifically for each student. I am classically trained but I also love to teach different styles as well. As a student for life, I am always open to new ideas of teaching and different approaches to music in general. I also believe that anyone can not only learn music, but can make music a joyous part of life...if not, you haven't found the right teacher.
I have had many students start lessons at 7 or 8 and I remember their first song. Flash forward 11,12 years and they are now grown adults playing masterpieces in college. I am very grateful to do what I do.
Someone heard me playing and offered me a space to teach at their studio. Within one month I had 12 students and realized this is the perfect career for me.
Clients choose and refer me because I treat every student and family as if they were my only client. I construct my lessons and approach unique to each student. I do all of the extra things like recitals and various musical projects. My number one goal is for a student to not only advance in the instrument, but to develop a love of music.
I only teach online via zoom. Zoom allows for multiple cameras and the screen share option enables us to view and work on music theory, music history and music games as well.
Being online we don’t have to worry about it COVID 19. If a student contracts COVID 19 and is too sick to have an online lesson, we reschedule when the student is better.
