My passion has always been to care for others, animal especially. As a veterinary technician I’ve worked in a plethora of animal care taking positions. The main one that sparked my business dream, was seeing animals at the large pet resort I worked at. We had pools inside and out, playtimes, big kennels, little dog areas, training, grooming you name it. Its every dog’s dream right? Wrong actually, not every dog is the same. I felt horrible for the pets who were so terrified of all the loud noises, new people and scents. It was sensory overload for them, they could be at the pound for all they knew. I would make every effort possible to make them as comfortable as I could. It started by sitting in the kennel with an anxious dog trying to get him to eat. Special food, people food, warm, cold, different dish it didnt matter. This dog would not eat. It had been 3 days since his owners dropped him off. I would sit in his kennel, every chance I got, and finally he would eat a tiny piece of kibble on the floor, not in a bowl. Then, I ended up hand feeding him and I saw his demeanor change. Once he started eating, he would walk up to the kennel door for his walk, slightly wagging his tail. I watched him transform in to a social butterfly. There comes a point, where every pet needs their own individual care, some more than others. Though, every pet isnt the same. I feel pets are the safest and most comfortable in their own environments for not only their health, but their wellbeing in general.
