I have over 45 years of experience as a singer, song-writer, and musician, and over 30 years of experience with sound engineering and teaching. I have degrees in music theory and education, and am able to accommodate students of all ages, ability levels, and learning styles. I am also well-versed in the use of online technology and can provide an exceptional in-person or remote learning experience.
I am, at heart, a teacher, and it has been a life-long desire of mine to teach. I am also deeply rooted in music of all kinds, and this opportunity to combine my love of music with my desire to instruct has been the best part of my working career. Nothing satisfies me more than to watch someone fall in love with music!
I have always been an instructor, and have been teaching part-time for over 25 years even though I held down a full-time job. A door opened, thanks to my wife, for me to go full time as an instructor, and I never looked back!
I am an instructor, plain and simple. I know how to take the complexities of music and break them down for any student at any ability level. I am infinitely patient with my students. I will push them to practice, and encourage them to play as often as they can, but I will also explain concepts of music as many times in as many different ways as is needed until my students reach a competent level of understanding. I love what I do, and it shows in the success my students enjoy.
I can provide online lessons through zoom, jam-kazaam, and other mediums based on your specific needs. I am happy to accommodate on-line learning for those who need the service, and have already had quite a bit of success with online students.
I got deeper into the remote learning process and refined my skills. At the height of the pandemic, I was teaching all of my students remotely to insure their safety. I followed state and local protocols, and instituted mask mandates in studio for students when they returned in-person, and took the time to thoroughly clean areas used by students after each lesson.
