Over the past few years that I have attended concerts by Austin Burns, concerts ranging in venues with viewers in the hundreds to those in the comfortable settings of living rooms, I have long marveled at the resonance and timbre of his voice, the virtuosity and daring of his singing, ranging from the comedy of burlesque through the bounce of sea ditties to the sadness of tragic arias - but perhaps above all, to the fact that in all his accomplishments and excellence he has no airs but is a delightful and easy guy to be around.
